Your Blog, Your Ads, Your Money
Posted on December 17th, 2007 by John Cow under Make Moooney Online, RamblingsIf you're new here, you may want to check out this cool new contest. You could win almost$3000 in Prizes!
After extensive testing, it seems that we have finally found the perfect system to manage third party advertising content on our blog and we will gladly let you boys and girls in on ‘the secret’ that will allow you to keep 100% of the profits you make on your precious ad-space. The time to stop paying others for managing your advertising space starts today!
Google, Yahoo, MSN - What do these guys do best besides providing the masses with a basic service of seek and find? Utilizing the advertising space that both they and you provide for any Internet user. Google has it’s Adsense program, which back in the day was a brilliant move, but it is becoming clear that they too are getting jumpy because the advertising market they once dominated is no longer their monopoly. Adsense these days is almost seen as secondhand advertising, filler advertising content, because it’s so darn easy to just smack some Adsense code on your blogs. The real money for bloggers like us lies within the private sales of advertising space, your advertising space!
Stop paying commissions to the middlemen
There’s no doubt that us bloggers have become a large niche of its own. We know what goes on around the Net and we love to write about it, but statistically speaking, what percentage of the Internet users is made out of bloggers? The only bloggers we know are the people we’ve met online. Not one of our ‘real life’ friends actually has a blog, and perhaps a handful knows what a blog is, although they’re online several hours a week. Yet its these masses of people that get targeted by a fully automated system that Google has designed. Its targeted traffic, but in many cases the wrong target gets hit. Besides that, often do these ad programs take a big cut out of your earning, some even reported up to 50%, just because they allowed you to use their system.
So what if you had a system of your own? The 50% commission that was previously taken off you by these big bullies can now stay where it belongs - in your pockets!
Take control today
Introducing the OIOPublisher Wordpress plugin. This amazing piece of software takes away all of your advertising dilemmas. No longer a slave of the big cooperation advertising machine, you can now actually get targeted traffic that hits the spot, from the people that visit your blogs because they know what they’re looking for. In this niche market we all have created, the advertisers know exactly what they want and we can now help they to find just what they need. Your advertising space!
OIOPublisher works. 24/7
We can now rest assured that even when we’re asleep, any advertiser that’s looking to buy ad space with us is being served. The fully automated system lets them upload their banners, input their links and request the sponsored reviews without us having to touch a button. The process for payment is also fully automated, and as soon as PayPal verifies a payment, a banner gets queued and all you need to do is click on approve when you wake up so the banner goes live! The OIOPublisher plugin keeps track of when a banner or link was published and just before the time frame of the purchase ends, it will automagically notify the advertiser via email if they’d like to renew their advertising. If not, the banner or link will expire, and a slot will open up instantly for a new advertiser to jump on the bandwagon.
We’d love to go into the details of how the OIOPublisher plugin works, but its simply too much for one blogpost, the possibilities to customize the system to your needs are overwhelming at first, but as soon as you’ve figured it out, there’s no way you’ll want to use anything else ever again for your ad sales.
But wait, there’s more!
The last few days we’ve worked close with Simon, the main developer of the plugin to make sure its fine tuned for our personal needs. You guys know the smooth menu that allows you to buy the authentic JohnCow Wordpress theme? With the whole affiliate program attached? That’s all build into the plugin! You can set it up, completely customized, to sell any product you might have for sale. Think ebooks, designs or even other wordpress plugins! There’s really nothing we could think of that Simon hasn’t already thought of in the development of this money making plugin.
And more..
Besides the rock-solid performance of the plugin, OIOPublisher has so much more to offer to it’s members. There’s an actual marketplace for advertisers to go ad-space shopping. This means they don’t even have to come across your blog before and still buy your advertising space.

We absolutely love how such a powerful plugin can be handled with such ease. If it wasn’t for Ian telling us about this must have plugin, we’d still be getting frustrated of manually having to insert ads, reminding advertisers of payments, following up leads that in the end didn’t go anywhere and were a waste of our time. With OIOPublisher, this is all a thing of the past. Advertisers don’t have to deal with us and our stupid jokes via email, they can just do what they came to do in seconds - securing advertising space. (Obviously they still can email us if they really have the time to hear our stupid jokes
And here comes the best part!
So for whoever is still reading this, just to find out how much all this will cost you; No more than $37! This gives you the right to use the plugin on as many blogs as you hown, there’s no limit!
To top it off, OIOPublisher is using it’s own affiliate system and will pay you 50% of all sales that you can make! We know, it’s insane. The amount of wordpress plugins out there that are 5 times more expensive and can do 10 times less is unbelievable. But Simon told us he’s in it for the long run, he really wants to build this up and expand slowly. He’s not looking for a quick buck, but the hours of unpaid development he’s put into this project is running into the thousands. Besides that,he’s really just a nice guy that isn’t looking to get rich off other people. We consider the one time fee of $37 a tip. Not a payment. Get your OIOPublisher plugin now and start earning your money for yourself and nobody else!
(PS This was NOT a paid review. Simon has helped us a lot in the last week, for free, and this was the least we could do for him! You guys on the other hand can see a live example of what the plugin looks like for advertisers by clicking here.)

I’m not sure if I’m completely sold on this concept, but I’ll definitely look into it, I think it could be a viable form of ads, and profit, but I don’t know. Let’s see more proof…
December 17th, 2007 at 12:54 am
sir jorge, every penny of ad space you sell goes into your own pockets. How can you not be sold on this concept?
December 17th, 2007 at 12:56 am
I will be looking into this. I am all for something that can help me manage my advertising easier. I have quite a few blogs in my network as well which might mean a little capital outlay, but if its all automated. Why not!
December 17th, 2007 at 12:58 am
Hmm, i guess when you put it that way, I can’t lose. I just need to Hustle.

Geeeez. If it can really do even half of that it’d be worth $37. I finally got my paypal account straightened out, now I can use this to fill it up. *L*
December 17th, 2007 at 1:18 am
Ryan, you only have to buy it once. The license grants usage of the system on all your blogs
December 17th, 2007 at 1:41 am
Thanks for the post JC, really appreciated!
There is a “bigger picture” to all this, and it really all depends on the critical mass. There are ad agencies who have already shown an interest in the project at this early stage. They have already said that if we can acquire a big enough blogging audience, and make sure things run smoothly (lots of moving parts behind the scenes), then they will want to come in with some big (repetitive) purchases through the marketplace on high quality inventory.
That doesn’t just include direct purchases, but also things like CPC network ads to fill in the gaps automatically (look for the OIOpublisher Labs link at the top of the site, and you’ll see a few of the future development plans).
But anyway, if you have any questions or problems, just leave your comments either here or at the site forum, and I’ll be there to deal with them throughout tomorrow.

And here I thought this plugin was free…until I read the bottom of the post
It might be well worth the $30 or so, but to some of us, that’s a lot of money..

Thanks John for recommending this software. I’ve been looking for something to automate the advertising process and this is exactly what I’ve been looking for. Thanks for the shoutout as well.
December 17th, 2007 at 2:31 am
Simon,
As I think I requested when you first released this a few months ago, a little bit more flexibility in terms of being able to design and customize the purchase pages. Is this an option yet?
December 17th, 2007 at 2:35 am
JC,
not a problem - just wanted you to have the ease of not handling the users request - all manual and stuff - just let the plugin do everything for you - dont mind helping out, glad you liked the plugin - cause it definitely kills TLA and reviewmes and all that other fluff
December 17th, 2007 at 2:44 am
How easy is installation? im looking at buying this but im not the most technical little chappy… ive seen some brief instructions but is there a lot of messing about to get all this set up?!
December 17th, 2007 at 3:51 am
Thanks for that info John. I knew you were using a plugin, and I even checked on a plugin in JCADS - since thats what the link shows when I made purchases from your blog. I later realized that it is just your initials with ads in it.
I will definitely be using that. A lot easier than Openads, which I am currently using.

That’s a very nice plugin. I would love to have it, but unfortunately I’m getting ready to spend enough already on advertising for my new blog. Simon, didn’t I hear that there was a $20 Christmas special coming up?
December 17th, 2007 at 5:42 am
@ Mike
I realise that the $37 is going to be out of some people’s reach initially. As the Cow would tell you, I was reluctant to put a price tag on it at all. But the time had come where I needed to start building some revenue from the project to help take it to the next level.
@ Colin
Just to let you know, that as you signed up early on, your access to everything remains free (I need to send out an email to that effect later). As for customising the look - the html is now separated into template files (although there is till php within them), and there is a generic css file that governs all purchase pages. I do have someone who is interested in converting them into fully xhtml-strict compliant templates for me, which would make the job easier.
@LittlePiggyBank
I would hope that installation is very straight-forward. All the necessary database adjustments and default settings are added automatically upon activation, and you are given instructions as to what to do if anything needs manual adjustment. The only template edits required would be if you didn’t use widgets in the sidebar, everything else is done via the plugin automatically.
If you have any problems with it, I’m usually on hand to help troubleshoot any problems, either via the site forum, or instant messenger.

“Simon, didn’t I hear that there was a $20 Christmas special coming up?”
The laws of supply and demand dictate that if enough people demand it, I may supply well it.
December 17th, 2007 at 6:07 am
It’s interesting. I appreciate your feedback. Now I have clear picture on secondhand advertising. Generate more best targeted traffic to websites. I learned some tips on how to generate best targeted traffic through online.
December 17th, 2007 at 6:23 am
supply well it? lol
Simon, Congrats on your plugin and I am glad that it is free for me as an early adopter, but I, like many others will happily pay.
I’m creating a new blog that will become my online persona and will promote your plugin there (With my affiliate link
)
Great Job BTW
December 17th, 2007 at 6:50 am
I am actually quite convinced. I think anyone can make $37 in a week through a variety of ways to get this plugin, I am going to be buying this first thing tomorrow morning.
December 17th, 2007 at 6:57 am
So is that where your “Ads Availometer thing came from? Pretty sweet.
December 17th, 2007 at 11:24 am

Fantastic post mr cow. I will be purchasing this plugin as soon as my blog is up.

Great plugin. Will definitely buy it when my own blog gets a bit more popular
December 17th, 2007 at 2:40 pm
Good plugins.. If I can buy it..
Awesome bro..
December 17th, 2007 at 2:53 pm
So, let me see if I understand this… you’re selling a plugin and a theme in this post?
Interesting…
December 17th, 2007 at 2:54 pm
Hey, this is great John. I might be purchasing it soon… if there is in fact a holiday special! I like the change that you’ve made to the header!
December 17th, 2007 at 3:50 pm
$37 isn’t too much for a plugin that allows you to bring on your own advertisers. If you are worried about the cost, you probably don’t have enough traffic to be selling advertising directly. One month’s worth of ads should more that cover the cost of this plugin.
December 17th, 2007 at 4:25 pm
Colin, you are always welcome to leave a paypal donation if you feel like it at any time.
And don’t mock my word order lol, it was late!
December 17th, 2007 at 4:53 pm
December 17th, 2007 at 5:25 pm
I will have a look into this, still it feels strange to pay to be able to place ads that will pay me in the end.

Hi there i also thought this is a free plugin , hey lots of freelancers are giving away for free their plugins , $ 37 it’s three much for this plugin
December 17th, 2007 at 7:53 pm
Free free free, everybody always wants everything to be free, yet they use advertising on their sites to make money. Why don’t you give your advertising space away for free? You don’t even have to spend numerous hours of hard work in developing and coding a plugin, you can just…give it away for free!
Right, who wants our free banners so they can stick it on their site, for free?
December 17th, 2007 at 8:05 pm
@vhxn
It did indeed start off as free while it was in early development. Now that it is mature, I need to start generating some revenue to build the project. I’m one person, not a corporation, and I don’t have a team of developers behind me at the moment.
I very much doubt you will find anything of this quality given away for free. Not to mention the fact it is way more than just a plugin. Check out the groups system, or the marketplace, or the jobs board I’m developing. They are all connected to the plugin, literally, in a way that no one else has done. It will eventually allow us to completely network our blogs, from content, to advertising.
As much as I’d like, I can’t offer it all for free for eternity. It is a completely unique approach at this time. (I do need to get going on full documentation now though) - and I’m sure from time to time I will offer some free or discounted purchases, if you keep a look out.
December 17th, 2007 at 8:37 pm

Can you Place our banners here for free

December 18th, 2007 at 1:01 am

I do have the computer technical abilities of a fetus though so that won’t help.
Just uploaded the files but dont seem to of got anywere yet lol
December 18th, 2007 at 1:07 am
Look in the docs folder in the plugin for the README.txt file.
If you still have any problems, post on the forum, and if necessary I can email / IM you through it.
December 18th, 2007 at 1:37 am
Cheers Simon,
Will go take a look at it all now… UK and 1:07am i guess your as mad as me huh?!
December 18th, 2007 at 1:59 am
I think I’m more in tune with US timezones than British right now, lol.
I’ll be spending the next couple of days creating a one-stop documentation and virtual tour system for the site, which should help a lot with questions and install problems.
December 18th, 2007 at 12:26 pm
vhxn, what’s with the crappy little attempt to pull traffic to your site by commenting here? I mean, yeah, it’ll get some click-thru’s, but your blog is just poor grammar about crap chinese gidget merchandise…. Time wasted by Gilberticus. Spare yourselves the trouble.

Just a quick thanks to all those who have helped squash a few minor bugs with the new release over the last couple of days.
If you find one, don’t forget to let me know about it through the site forum, or via the contact form. Thanks.
December 18th, 2007 at 8:12 pm
I have to agree with the Cow here. Dang, all this talk of free, what are you guys running, welfare blogs? I hope you are giving all your advertising revenue to charity.
December 19th, 2007 at 3:10 pm
If you want to earn money by advertising on your website then you should take a look at Matched.co.uk. You enter the details of your website and any pages you wish to have advertisements on. They then match you with advertisers and pay you £3 per advert that you display on your website for a month. You can enter up to 5 websites and 5 pages on each site so potentially you could make £75 a month for doing vitually nothing and you could earn even more through their affiliate scheme with an extra £5 per referral.

A couple of questions I have. I currently have my blog up and running past few months.
1. When I activate this plugin, will all my content transfer over without any problems?
2. Does this theme include the OIOpublisher?
3. What plugins come with it?
4. Will notification occur if an upgrade is developed and will it be free?
5. Will it work flawlessly with the other plugins?
6. Does it come with some sort of instruction on how to change the add layouts?
7. Does it come with a Newsletter plugin installed?
Sorry for all the questions, thanks.

Sorry, I was talking about the John Cow WP Theme that I am interested in.
