You Have Nothing To Loose

You have nothing to lose! How many times have you thought about opening your own business? 5 times, 10 times, 100 times? Today is your day. Stop letting your dreams collect dust, and choke us all to death when you dust them off with I coulda, shoulda, and other high school has been rants! After all the worst thing that could happen if your business fails is that you have to go and find a job or go back to the job you were unhappy at. Starting a business will only increase your skill set, enhance your resume and increase your chances of success in the future. Plus its cool, fashionable, and profitable!

Here are the facts or as I like to say a crash course in reality!

Two-thirds of millionaires are entrepreneurs, according to Thomas Stanley and William Dank, authors of The Millionaire Mind.

You receive not only a salary, but also a lot of money if you sell your company or take it public. Or did you want to be “comfortable”? Comfortable is working at a job for 40 years, having just enough retirement to last about 5 years, then having to choose between going back out in the workforce at age 70 or eating cat food!

Operating a profitable business in the long term is less risky than being an employee in the long term. Business owners are the last people to go down with a ship if business turns bad. Or is your ambition to be another corporate employee victim, losing your 401K after the top executives decide to give themselves a no interest 300 million dollar loan or cash out their millions in stock?
So what does it take to be a successful entrepreneur? Glad you asked:

  • Self-Control – You can’t buy every computer application, hire every consultant, go out partying all the time or watch TV during business hours, you need self control! Especially for those of us looking to strike it rich in the platinum mines of Web 2.0. There are a ton of distractions on the web and the most successful out there have control and focus. Do you?
  • Self-Confidence – You have to tackle ALL your problems immediately with confidence and persistence in your pursuit of your company’s objectives. If you are a chicken in the world of business, prepare to be some savvy wolves dinner as they devour your next great idea.
  • Sense of Urgency – You must have drive and high energy levels, be achievement-oriented, and be tireless in trying to achieve your goals. Things change fast on the internet, I mean like by the hour or minute ! So in order to cut it here you gotta strike quick, cash in and reassess the plan. You can learn plenty of that right here at JohnCow.com. Cash Cows can run fast, if you wanna milk it you have to be on your toes partner!
  • Realism - Entrepreneurs accept things as they are and deal with them accordingly. They may or may not be idealistic, but they are seldom unrealistic. Look don’t come out the gate thinking your gonna strike a deal of myspace, google, or yahoo proportions out the gate. Know what you don’t know.
  • Emotional Stability - Entrepreneurs have a considerable amount of self-control and can handle business pressures. They are comfortable in stressful situations and are enthralled rather than discouraged by setbacks or failures.

Still need inspiration? Stick around, we are just starting to have fun at the Cow!

PS: If you have any specific areas you want me to address in the future, feel free to drop us a comment and ask the questions! Would love to tackle them next session. Until then milk the cows!

Don’t go quit your job after reading this post people. 80% + of you will likely to fail (harsh, but thats the truth). Best to find what you love doing and stick to it, instead of doing what everyone else is

The sense of urgency is what keeps me motivated to pump out posts. There is always a feeling of being left behind by the competition.

I think this post more than anything reflects the Power of Positive Thinking. Good post..

Great post with some very inspirational messages. One of the things many people do is create their own obstacles, most often fear. They are afraid to start a business due to the fact they don’t expect to succeed and are afraid of failure. I thin this post speaks plenty on just doing it and giving it your all instead of saying “I wish I had my own business…”

Always remember that each person has unique and special gifts or talents. Be careful in who you choose to dismiss. One of the folks, besides my PPP Peeps, that helped me see the potential of making money online was JC & crew.

Positive feelings go a long ways towards jump starting your success online.

I think i can, i think i can, i think i can …

I know the millionaires make it sound so easy buuuut….. Idk it’s a tough world out there, you first need an idea. I think it’s tough to come up with an idea that will make you the millions.

Nice points. I like the part that talks about being real. Most bloggers are just not real …

@browie: its not really that hard to come up with an idea, its just working hard after you get that idea.

Inspiration comes and goes it seems, but when you own something yourself, and all the work you do is for yourself and your family, inspiration comes easier. Still, there are always times when its hard to keep things rolling….good post.

I agree most of you..

I won’t quit my job coz I think blogger only for side income and hobbies..

Score.org has some helpful tips and free advisors if you’re interested in starting your own business. But I agree with the above. Don’t quit your day job unless you have enough of an emergency fund to sustain yourself for a year or more. More small business, if they don’t fail within the first three to five years, usually don’t become profitable during those first couple of years.

I really hate these type of posts and it kind of stops me wanting to come back here. What do I want to see from this blog? I want to see advice on how to make money… I want to see what you are doing to make money from this very young blog… I want to read tips and tricks, where you have gone wrong and where you have got success. I don’t want to read “motivational posts” which go no where and mean nothing.

I know this seems harsh but look at is as constructive criticism rather than an ear bashing.

Alan

I would have to agree with Allan Hollis about the post being a none make money online tips and ticks etc..but sometimes there is nothing that we can share with our readers@make money online writing block?..even Chow occasionally post about having lunch at a grand restaurant, eating $60 burgers, and now WCG..what did that do to make money online. Only gave inspiration and motivation to the readers about what can you achieve WHEN you are earning 20K a month and own an advertising company..

For Cow, sometimes you need to think if it is better NOT to post anything at all or just simply post a stupid movie from youtube for the sake of posting a post..

just my 2 cents.
