Yes, BlogRush Does Work
The last few days everyone has been talking about a new project that was launched by John Reese; BlogRush.com. For you that had not noticed yet, we’ve added the widget to our sidebar. Didn’t want to post about it until we’d get some results.
The hype created around this widget is massive. JohnChow, Shoemoney and Problogger all have posted about it and are all very positive. That’s because the idea simply works! We’ve had the widget installed for a day now and according to our log, 40 unique visitors have already found their way to our green pasture.
The concept is simple; You show my link and I’ll show yours. The widget grabs 5 RSS feeds from a specified category you have to place your blog in when you get the code. We’ve put ours in the Business category for example. Any other blog that’s in there will display our latest post to it’s visitors. Here’s a video that will explain exactly how it works. Lucky we managed to get John Chow to sign up with us as a referral!
We recommend you join the blogrush network today so you too will start receiving some nice extra traffic for free!
If you enjoyed this post, make sure you subscribe to my RSS feed!

I’ve signed up beneath you and posted about BlogRush
Thanks Matt!
I did too!
Most of these widgets will help only those blogs having very large visitors. Anyways, I too have signed up.
I think it on the contrary, those widgets will be good for new blogs and blogs that need to be known without paying advertising.
I don’t like their pyramid scheme where you get views from referrers traffic. Do you really think you’re gonna get more “credits” from people you refer to the 10th degree of separation? I don’t see how they could show everyones headlines all in one day based on that model.
I’m skeptical, but I’ll try it and see if it works.
Their pyramid scheme is like MLM. Is not impossible
I have seem bigger pyramids
Is this realy wordk
Hi Mr Moo
I have signed up, and will be adding this to our site once the new template is done, which should be this week as I have taken a week off from the day job to finish it.
I think Blogrush is going to be big, it is all over the place at the moment, even some of the tech sites, which don’t normally write about stuff like this have written articles about it
This program is amazing especially for those that talk about how to monetize and make your blog better since people will use your referral links, sucks for those who blog about other things, most of the time referrals will be very low, that has been the case for me at least but still a very good tool to get some extra hits and maybe even readers.
The strange thing is, I’ve visited some of the links in the widget, and have yet not found one with the widget on. Are those paid sponsored links or what?
Yes, we noticed the same thing. Wonder if there’s an exploit not to use the widget. It’s design isn’t great.
It be cool if they allowed you to change the color or just use text links and what not, maybe they will add it in the future.
I have noticed the same and feel they are cheating the system.
I even found one blog where the guy was saying it was web 1.0 and ineffective yet I found it via the plugin.
I tried other non tech/computer categories with the same result with old July or May post.
I will give it a week or 2 for them to force the plugin installation or I will remove it.
John Cow: What category are you in?
Also, I’m sure they will offer configuration later and let them tweak it first. But I prefer they fix the cheating first.
Business
Thanks for the answer John
Got an answer: it’s not cheating. Those are placeholder for now. Now, I can leave it.
I’m taking a “wait and see” attitude, but after initially being impressed I decided I wasn’t really all that impressed after all. I see quite a few problems with this thing. Will be interesting to see what comes of it. I doubt my concerns are unique to me.
Eeeeek, well it’s a good idea, maybe some one can perfect it then.
I had the same attitude let’s see if this is worth the ad space of blogrush.
I’d just like to gain a few readerships with this program. I like it.
Hope it works because I am testing them out
[...] Yes, BlogRush Does Work [...]
Works or not, once i clicked on the Stats and i saw We are working hard to provide you with blla blla blla the first thing that came in my mind was “Whaa?! This whole thing supposedly was build to create traffic buzz between bloggers and you can’t provide me stats?” well, after that…i just rushed out my blog that ugly widget.
[...] Yes, BlogRush Does Work - The Cow talks about how he has received 40 unique visitors since joining the program. He also states that he signed up John Chow in his referral downline. If that is the truth then I would expect he should be getting a whole lot more traffic than that. [...]
It may work but Im disappointed in reese for launching before he has a portal built.
Sounds legit, I’ll see how it works for me.
I recently developed a free wordpress plugin called “BlogRush Click Maximizer”. By using it you can vastly improve your Click Through Rate.
This allows you to control what you want to display in BlogRush. You can even write alternate - short and catchy title just for BlogRush.
You will have total control of what appears over the BlogRush Network.
Check it out here:

I notice a year later .. there is no BlogRush widget showing in your sidebar. Have you changed your view or opinion of the service? I have recently decided to try the service and wonder if the widget appears “junky” from more seasoned marketers or if the application does work.
