Twitter Marketing for Your Business FREE Blog Series

twitter-bird-2-copySo have you heard of Twitter… ya right… like who hasn’t?

TV, News and every blog on the internet is talking about it and when Ashton Kutcher challenged CNN, it started to really explode… and then Oprah had it on her show and well lets just say the Twitter server had to work overtime!

It seems this once seemingly “stupid” and “useless” (yes, i heard many a person say this) microblogging system is taking off and is leading by example.

I’ve been playing around with it for over a year, and while it’s been fun, there’s also serious business applications to using Twitter as well. I am not talking of the spamming systems that are popping up, where they teach you to add followers and then promote stuff to them left and right. I mean real honest to goodness “solid” business advantages to using Twitter…

BUT (and it is a big one)

…in order to take advantage of it, you need to be on it (as a famous lottery commercial, in Canada anyway, once said, “You can’t win if you don’t play”) and you have to know how to play by the rules.

So I’m  here to show you how to get in the game and start playing with Twitter.. the RIGHT way!

This will be the first in a series of posts that will teach you how to use Twitter, from the basics of what Twitter is and what it can do, to the more complicated aspects of it and how you can use it to promote your business.

Here’s some of what I’ll be covering:

  1. What Is Twitter and How Does it Work?
  2. How to get started
  3. How to post Tweets
  4. How to respond to other people (retweet) and interact with other users (and get followers)
  5. How to add Twitter to your blog
  6. Twitter Marketing with Your Mobile Phone

By the end of it you should be a verifiable* Twitter expert.

*Well, maybe not really verifiable, since I don’t think that I have the authority to do that, but you know what I mean.

Oh and make sure to follow us at http://www.twitter.com/johncow and add us as a Friend on FaceBook while you are at it too :)

Looking forward to the series Jason. I’ve got quite a bit of followers but am curious on how to convert them to loyal readers without being spammy.

I am sure it’ll be a good series Jason. Twitter is Crazy!! who would have thought something so basic would be so explosive. Even the President of the USA has a Twitter account! I wrote a post about Twitter awhile back (http://hillbillydirect.com/twitter-follow-me-follow-you-group). Some interesting people to follow and an invite to share your twitter id for other followers. Twitter is pretty cool, anytime I stumble onto something, I can quickly share it with folks all over the place. Do a scan of other tweets and find all kinds of interesting links and info.

    Cheers!

Looking forward to the posts , especailly interested in points 9 and 10. Although Twitter is taking off research has shown that 60% of Twitter users quit before even using it one month :( , Most probably because of spammers you keep tweeting affiliate links

  9. I want to know how we can gain more followers from Twitter?

  14. RealTruthMLM says:

I’m really looking forward to this. I’m always getting followers who’s only intent is for me to follow them so they can spam me with their links.

Another thing, I really hate it when people thank me for following them and ask me to check out a URL. Does this technique really work?

  15. Walt says:

Twitter is “iffy” at best. I’ve seen some marketers using it really well, and I’ve seen others using it as a spam machine. The good ones use it to actually develop (gasp) relationships. Get to know someone, let them learn more about you, and develop a rapport before ever trying to make a sale.

  16. fas says:
