Hello darlings! To anyone that was concerned with our whereabouts the past few days, thank you. We just had an early Paddies day on Friday night, and our milk probably still tastes like Kaluha or Baileys. Anyway, we’re back in the saddle with this review. A new 136 page eBook by Stephane Grenier about how to drive traffic to your site. Certainly a topic of interest for all you pre-superstar bloggers.

We received a free  copy of the ebook, and it took us a little while to get through all those pages. Pleasantly surprised that this wasn’t just another run of the mill ebook, full of scrambled bits and pieces. Stephane has actually put a lot of work in the book, making it very easy to read, simple to find what you’re looking for and packed with some serious information about driving traffic to your sites.

Why do you need Traffic to Your Website? The simplest answer is that because without traffic your website doesn’t exist!

Hopefully we don’t have to tell you guys that traffic equals money, and that this should be on your top 2 priority as a webmaster. If you’ve got no idea what to do to get traffic, randomly Digg your own stuff, ask friends for stumbles, buy reviews on JohnCow.com, than this book is for you. We consider ourselves pretty savvy, but Stephane’s book has made us look at a few of the methods descibed from a different angle. We’re not saying its all new and revolutionary, we’re saying its got everything you need to know to start increasing your traffic, drastically.

Obviously, since this isn’t a free ebook, we can’t go into detail about the contents too much, simply because you wouldn’t have to buy the book anymore. and that’s just not the way the world works kids :) What we can give out are some of the keywords in the books table of contents, just so you’ll get an idea of what you’re investing your money in. We say investing, because we’re certain that you will make back the money you spend on this book in no time. Its not even $30!

Besides tons of written information, Stephane has also made sure that visual examples are placed throughout the book, to make sure you know what he’s trying to teach you.

Below is the list of the traffic generation techniques this book will cover. Although this
list isn’t complete, it does include the most effective and efficient techniques.

Time Based Traffic Generation Techniques

  • Search Engine Optimizations (SEO)
  • Content (creating valuable content)
  • Freebies
  • Blogging
  • Socializing
  • Social Networking
  • Web Directories
  • Miscellaneous

Money Based Traffic Generation Techniques

  • Google AdWords
  • Press Releases
  • Domain Acquisition

The best way we can describe the book is as the lite-version of the, now discontinued, SEOBook. Stephane absolutely knows what he’s talking about, and a lot of this is also coming from his personal experiences as a webmaster. We’ve got nothing bad to say - in fact, looks like we’re going to have to redo our own ebook in the making. The only flaw we found is on page 68. Whoever can tell us what’s wrong there first, gets $30 insta-cash via PayPal from us :) That means you’ll get the book for free!

I agree there are a lot of “how to generate traffic” ebooks, but the vast majority are pretty much useless. Many less scrupulous “authors” copy/paste a bunch of different material from random sources into a small ebook and just market it and sell it like crazy.

And to be honest, I was getting very annoyed trying to find this kind of information. There are very few really good sources like Aaron’s SEO Book. So I decide to write my own ebook and create the industry’s de facto ebook on how to generate traffic much like Aaron’s book is the SEO industry book.

I made sure to load it with information, and make sure it all flows together. Like John’s saying, it’s loaded with a lot of information, even for savy bloggers!

Btw, you aren’t the only person to think this, Mani from BloggingTips (http://www.bloggingtips.com/2008/03/16/how-to-generate-traffic-to-your-website-ebook/) wrote:

“The title of the ebook, though tempting was not very exciting to me honestly. This is one niche where there are a lot of ebooks already , so with a skeptical mind I decided to give it a try.

To my surprise I found that Steph has done an indepth analysis of the traffic generation process and the sheer volume of topics covered in the ebook itself, reveals the amount of research Steph has done to accomplish this book. The topics are very relevant and meaningful, this grabbed my attention in the first place.

[...]

I can assure you that this is NOT an ebook that will contain information that you’ve already read elsewhere.

Every page is simply worth the money you pay. And it’s cheaper that all those “I’ll teach you everything in two minutes” kind of books.”

Haha, nice find. I also just purchased a copy myself. I really hope it’s worth it. John gave it a good review which is pretty much the reason I bought it.

Thanks for the book John.

I just looked at those 3 books, and 2 are pretty much the same just regurgitated a little differently. The John Chow one is good but it’s also about how to make money from your traffic, only a portion is to traffic genearation.

Because these books are also about generating money from blogs (and most of the techniques to generate traffic are only for blogs) there is very little content about how to generate traffic in comparison to mine. For example I have a full 136 pages on just traffic generation. The traffic tactic books are the same and have about 100 pages. Not only that it’s almost all about how to buy traffic (for example How to buy traffic on credit, etc.).

I actually find John Chow’s ebook much better, but it’s only 59 pages. And a good portion of that is how to monetize your blog.

I’m not saying these other ebooks aren’t good, it’s that you’re comparing oranges to apples. The ebook I wrote is all about traffic generating. It’s very in-depth and covers just that material. You will get your money’s worth!!!
