Teh New Interweb Dictionary

Gosh, we’ve had an extremely productive day, and have just setup the most useless website ever, and we’re blaming JohnChow for it! Bored and browsing our RSS feeds, we read the review Michael Kwan had written about a new piece of software that allows you to set up a site where people can buy words for a dollar. So yes, we went ahead and grabbed the script, set up the site and we’re now hoping to become millionaires overnight. Not.

Its actually just a little experiment, to see how much traction a site like this will get SEO-wise. Because we can’t be arsed to fill up every word ourselves, and we’re really not looking to make a profit of this site, we have set the price to buy a word to the lowest possible setting. One cent per letter.

If you’re bored and you feel like spending a dime on a free backlink to your website or blog, join us at Linkzi.com

Have fun rewriting Teh Interwebs New Dictionary!

PS if you guys won’t buy anything, we’ll know what a bunch of cheap skates you really are!

Oh and just to show you that we’re really not making any profit on this. Check out the PayPal fees.

paypal.jpg

Here’s a suggestion for those of you that don’t know what word to get:

A fictional dish mentioned in Aristophanes’ comedy Assemblywomen:

It is of 561 letters originally-

Lopadotemachoselachogameokranioleipsanodrimhypotrimmatosilphio-
karaomelitokatakechymenokichlepikossyphophattoperisteralektryon-
optekephalliokinklopeleiolagoiosiraiobaphetraganopterygon

And another update. Someone just thought it was funny to buy ‘cocksucker’ and link it to Shoemoney.com. We’ve deleted the entry and refunded the money. Someone does something like that again and we’ll just delete the entry. Paypal can keep your money.

*Update* Looks like there’s already over 50 links bought by you guys! Help us and help yourself by giving the site a thumbs up on stumbleupon so we can drive viral traffic to your sites!

Way to go! Your Google AdSense has already been banned on the site? I think I will by a few words. What the hell!

Best of luck with it. Waiting for the “Yeah, but directories are USELESS” crowd to chime up.

Haha, looks interesting man.

“7 active links and counting” WOW!!!!

I would buy if it was worth anything:

Google PageRank: 0/10

Yahoo! Backlinks: 0 [view]

Estimated Link Price: $0.00 USD Monthly

:???: … yet killin’ me Cow

I think you have a mis-spelling in the title (”Teh” instead of “The”)? Maybe it was intentional?

Hey, you might want to check the script. It just told me that the word I purchased had already been taken and you guys are going to refund me.

Yet, when I go to the word I purchased ‘download’, it links to my site….

I caved and bought the Social keyword for the Social Millionaire. Consider it a tip for your review :)

P.S. - Are you making any money from this, isn’t PayPal raping all your profits with their fees?

Pat; Nope, we’re not making a penny from this since paypal grabs all the dimes that are coming in :)

Don’t worry, we’re not trying to compete with you in any way. Its just an experiment.

I’ve seen a few sites like this, but never bothered to actually think about buying a link. Your price though was tempting so I signed up and bought a few.

P.S. - Is the Teh in the title of this thread a type of The, or is it a new Web2.0 expression that I have not heard of yet ??

Haha I think if it wasn’t for the paypal fees you could actually make a killing. At those prices people will definitely use the website. (I might buy a word later)

Proud to say i bought the word “Entrepreneur” and featured it for $1 extra. I’d say it’s brought me about 10-20 clicks in the last 4 days or so. Not going to make me a millionaire but better than nothing!
