One of the biggest challenges entrepreneurs face, especially in the early stages, is the kind of support and community that comes from being part of a company. As a solo entrepreneur, you can become isolated, which leads to a whole series of troubles. You can lose touch with your field, miss out on current marketing trends, and just be lonely.

Solopreneurs.org is a website that can help. The premise behind Solopreneurs is to connect like-minded business owners who are on the same journey. The site uses a number of cutting edge tools to let you interact with other business owners, such as:

  • Discussion boards
  • Private messaging
  • File Sharing
  • A live broadcaster
  • Audio/visual presentations
  • Audio and video postcards
  • Photo gallery
  • Task manager
  • Teleconferencing
  • Video and MP3 gallery
  • Web audio chat
  • Web video chat

One of the best resources at solopreneurs has to be their knowledge base. There’s a ton of information here about running a business, marketing, how to utilize a web presence for your business, and how to partner with other businesses. There are even live teleclasses and broadcasts. These features mean that the site is not only a place for you to connect with like-minded people, it’s also a place where you can get valuable information to boost your business.

Members also receive The Solo Times, a newsletter designed for solo entrepreneurs. As a member you can also promote your own business in the Solo Times, or submit articles to the newsletter.

The site currently features a risk-free 14 day trial period, so it’s worth checking out to see if it’s got anything to offer you. In addition, Solopreneurs.org has an affiliate program where you can turn your participation into a profit center rather than an expense.

Visit Solopreneurs.org now to give it a try and find out how you can connect with others in your field and grow your business.

PS – They have a cool little contest going on too that you can check out. Click Here to learn more!

The design looks pretty dated, but I shall delve deeper!

I agree, what’s up with the 90’s layout? I really like websites and companies that care about their appearance. It’s a shame that it is so hard to look past it when I visit a website, but they really only get 5 seconds to impress me before I move on :???:

  4. Doesn’t look like a web site that I would be very interested in. Maybe over time they can get somethings and get rid of things because it just seems there is too much built-in to this one web site.

But Cow….I’m learning all that right here at JohnCow.com :!:

Sounds like a good idea for a community, but I agree with the guys above. At first glance, it seems like it’ll take too much of my time to “figure out if I like/need it”. I’m too used to “Web 2.0″ layouts showing me how I can benefit at a glance of the front page.

We’re all spoiled now and have the attention span of a 3 year old. On top of that, we have 376,498 other websites to visit in the next 10 minutes. Your front page better grab me by the ba***. ;)

    Cheers!

Same here – promising concept, but I struggled with the old fashioned web site, then got lost in the navigation. (And the forum only has 23 posts… so is the site really new?)

  8. Janet says:

What does this Solopreneurs.org offer I can’t get here? The design is terrible I must say.

  9. Freddie says:

Seems like an interesting concept. I am definitely a solo entrepreneur, but that is changing now that I am learning there is strength in numbers and networking, reaching out more to other bloggers.

That is making a difference in my business.

  10. This is the reason I read your blog and not John Chow’s blog – you stay relevant – I don’t know if you’ve seen it but John Chow just reviewed a fat loss pills website for a bit of extra cash. I like this blog because it actually cares about relevancy to readers :)

  11. I didn’t read any of the comments before visiting the site and my first thought was: “What’s that web 0.1 design?”. Now I see I’m not the only one thinking that.

  12. If site offers great content and brings value, I don’t care about design.. but what Solopreneurs.org brings to the table?

  13. Martin @ FUS says:

Exactly Max – what does it bring to the table? Maybe it is great… but part of a good design is presenting the benefits clearly and making them easily accessible. I looked but didn’t find.
