*Update* Patrick Gavin just replied in the comments section, it seems there is no reason to panic, TLA is still running their referral scheme. We’d just like to know why Jonathan Dingman emailed Matthew that the program was stopped Patrick?
We just found out why nearly 1800 visitors we’ve send to Text Link Ads only made us $peanuts in the past couple of months. It seems that blogaboutyourblog was told by Jonathan Dingman (why does that name sound so familiar?) that the affiliate program that pockets you $25 for everyone that you get to join TLA, has been put on hold for at least a couple of months. We never received the memo though and we’re wondering if we were ever going to! Is TLA not telling us this on purpose, afraid that bloggers would stop promoting their services? It stinks if anything and we hope that someone over at TLA can come up with a plausible explanation as to why nobody ever received notice of the affiliate program being put on hold. Here’s what Jonathan told Matthew…
Our affiliate program is currently on hold and will re-launch completely in the following couple months.
Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for understanding.
Jonathan Dingman
Product Manager
Even though we haven’t been pushing the program, we still managed to get 1800 visitors to check them out. Its hard to believe that just 0,005% signed up for free and made us $225,- We’d love to know why TLA has not emailed all of the people that are pushing their site as affiliates. If you can set-up the biggest link sale site on the Internet, surely sending out a couple of emails isn’t that much of a task?

*Edit* A little bird just told us on IM that the affiliate program isn’t on hold and he’s checking this with Patrick Gavin, CEO of TLA. We’ll keep you updated.

nice digging. if word of this spreads, it can probably take down tla
Bloggernoob, feel free to submit this one to digg and see what TLA has to say if word get out
Isn’t TLA and ShoppingAds the same company ? Because I’ve been scammed by the latter too recently
Yeah, we’re pretty sure they are. What happened?
Strange, since I just got an email from them 2 days back. My new blog got rejected for inventory but I was offered this:
*Please note that our algorithm that accepts or rejects inventory submissions can make mistakes and if you feel the above criteria does not accurately describe your website, please reply to this email asking for further review by our editorial staff.
*Please note that you can still make money with Text Link Ads Affiliate Program! Simply follow this link:
http://www.text-link-ads.com/my_account.php?view=affiliate_links
and place our banners on your site and receive $25.00 for each referred visitor that results in a sale or a successful inventory submission on Text Link Ads.
Argh! I wrote an eBook to promote them, wasted a good thirty minutes too. Bunch of clowns
BTW, you still have a TLA ad showing in your footer under Mooney Makers.
This can’t be good for Text Link Ads…alongside not paying people, they may never recover from this backlash.
How about a nice cup of Agloco?
It’s really starting to stink over there at TLA HQ…
Wow… another reason to dump TLA. Yes, ShoppingAds and TLA are owned by the same company, and ShoppingAds absolutely sucks. I wonder why John Chow is keeping it on his blog. It’s not like it making him any money according to his last income report.
Wow, thanks for the heads up, hopefully word spreads fast because this is realyl unfair on TLA’s part
Hmmm….odd…I still got paid for November fine
Going on to say: I think if TLA suspended their affiliate program, so what. It’s still only mid december, chances of us losing afortune are slim. They may still pay us when the program reinstates itself. It’s not like it’s mid February and they haven’t paid us for December.
I hope word spread about this. Then I can keep all the TLA affiliate revenue for myself.
I got paid too and my affiliate reporting is fully functional. Maybe you should have done some fact checking before posting. It’s not that hard to send an email to Patrick.
Im definitely looking for clarfication on this, cant wait to hear what they say.
If they don’t close it down I want the money that is owed to me, that isn’t displaying
Sphunn it: http://sphinn.com/story/18449
Not a big fan of TLA personally, but I doubt that they’re really not paying affiliates or else pausing the program. Probably an idea they considered and dropped, but someone missed the memo.
BTW, do you know you rank for John cHow? Lol.
And yeah, you still have the TLA footer links.
One more thing –> @ the uni kid … you wrote an ebook to promote an affiliate product … and it took you 30 minutes … did you learn that technique from a make money and get rich ebook from an internet marketing guru? Cuz it’s pretty cheesy. (Not calling you cheesy, just the technique.)
I don’t think I’m going to jump the gun on this one, staying put until I hear something or we get a cow update!
Andy, “anyone for a cup of Agloco?” … too funny man!
I’ve had so many clicks to my TLA referral page and not a single sign up. I have had an increase in TLA ads bought on my other blog though but only barely enough to buy a taco plate.
That’s ridiculous that a company like TLA can’t tell its affiliates that they won’t be getting paid. Glad I haven’t referred anyone to them.
Good thing I cut off TLA after Google messup. Something funky going on. I can feel it. Just sell your links directly. That’s what I’ve been doing and made way more money. Here’s a short post about that
wahh is this true..
luckily i just disable their plug in and remove their ad, just last week
wah so lucky aa me
i think, maybe a lot of advertiser has back off since threat from Uncle G..
maybe you should put the EDIT on the top of the post ? I’ve been getting paid from TLA for my affiliates.
JC, sorry for the miscommunication. We are actively working on a new comprehensive affiliate program for all our publisher products but our current TLA affiliate program IS still alive and well. Sorry again for the misunderstanding.
Patrick didn’t stop over by BAYB lol. Thats where the miscommunication was.
I even asked via email and didn’t get anymore clarification with this. Something is a little off here.
No reason why I was told that either
TLA sucking and google not liking them, auction ads sucking, shoppingads sucking. Either these guys are scammers and skimming and making a crapload by sucking so bad (for us) or they are completely incompetent and just can’t handle things. Regardless I have removed all the codes and won’t be using any of their products because of all the suck.
Here’s a post on how to get by without TLA:
