Raking In The Pagerank

It seems Google is very late this time around with their pagerank updates. Today is officially the longest time between updates, 122 days. Loads of people are sweating it because believe it or not, buying and selling links is big business! If you’ve got yourself a PR5 for example, you could make anywhere between $25 - $50 per month. PR6 and over will easily fetch you $50-$100 per month! It’s a whole new economy Google introduced with the pagerank principle.

Now we bet you’d love to know how to get a high pagerank for your site so you can start raking in all that cash all those webmasters are throwing around right? The answer to that is really simple; Get links to your site from high pagerank sites. Google will assume you’re important too and reward you with a higher value. What’s not so simple though is to get those links. Unless you’re willing to spends loads of your own cash on buying links.

Don’t worry! We just uncovered a great opportunity which could get you a PR7 link from a 7 years old established site which is listed in DMOZ (important for a lot of people). And since we’re in a generous mood cuz it’s Friday and all, we’ll share the wealth with you guys! All you need to do is make a donation and these guys will put a link back to your site from their PR7 page. Don’t ask how much of a donation because we don’t know. We are not affiliated with these guys in any way and we can’t be held responsible if your link doesn’t show up. It’s still active since there have been 5 new links added on the 28th.

Where’s this site? It’s right here: http://forum.snitz.com/donations.asp (And that’s not a clickable link on purpose so they won’t figure out we let you guys in on this little secret). Make a donation, sent them an email about how cool their stuff is and how you just donated an X amount via paypal address XYZ and that you’d be honored by getting placed on their link section as a thank you! And since you’re donating anyway, they’re not the only ones accepting donations

Unfortunately the way PageRank works is that the PR that is “leaked” to you from the linking site is divided by the number of links on the page.

Generally speaking, a PR7 with two links on the page will give you 7/2 pagerank juice. A PR7 with 100s of links gives you….an amount not worth paying for.

They must be raking in the money.

We’d love to see where you get that information from.

We’re pretty sure that nobody except Larry Page and Sergey Brin really knows how PageRank is determined. These are all educated guesses. Simply because if someone did know exactly how it works, we’d all be rich by now.

The formula that determines page rank is much more complicated than that, quite simply because otherwise everybody would copy it.

The main problem with having a link from a PR7 site that has hundreds of links is that every link will be valued at 0. Not becuase of the formula but because Google deems the site to be full of shit.

No, they’re not educated guesses. PageRank was created by Larry and Sergey while at Stanford University (and Stanford owns the patent). They published how it works and it remains the property of Stanford University. Of course, it has been changed and altered since then, but I’m sure the basic principles are still the same.

I don’t think how it works is a big secret at all. If you get a one-way link from a PR7 site and you’re the only link on that site, it makes logical sense that you’d get more PRjuice than from one with 100s of links.

Discovering how PR works isn’t the hard part, getting the links is. And that’s what holds people back from riches.

Sorry, but I still think buying a link there would be a waste.

Yes, guess paying $10 for a valid PR7 backlink would be silly if you can get one on CashQuests for the same prize where you share the PR0 with 25 others!

I’m hoping for a PR4 at least. My original site is 5 and I’m making over $100/month on text links which is nice extra money. Then i’m hoping my blog gets a 4 at least, hopefully those predictors are right.

I am hoping to get a PR of 5 in the update, which is what is showing on iwebtool, not bad in 3 months, and thanks to the Mad Moo’s for including me in their link train which has helped a lot :)

One thing that really confuses me is how you use words like “sent” instead of “send”, or “spent” instead of “spend”. Is this some sort of American or Canadian or Aussie thing? I only ask because you do it all the time and it doesn’t look like you do it by mistake.

We’re never sure if it’s with a T or D so we figured we’d stick with one of them so we wouldn’t look too silly. It’s not an American, Canadian or Aussie thing. We’re Dutch cows.

Last time I checked, and bought links off that site, was around 3 months ago. The minimum “donation” was $10 at the time/link. I have gotten links from them at 1$/link >6 months ago, when the whole world didn’t know about their forum.

Anyone that gone one recently, is the price still at 10$/link ?

Do you advertise your back link count to potential link buyers?

It’s possible to have 100,000,000 backlinks all passing no rank, number of links wouldn’t figure in my decision to buy.

Thats actually what I have to do, I have to show them my alexa,tech,3500 backlinks and point out why those 3500 are quality from high pr, so I have to convince each new buyer that their link will get traffic or that its a bargain buying my “pr0″ links.
