PageRank Anyone? Yes Please!

It’s that time of the season again. Bloggers and webmasters will be all over the DigPageRank site for the next week or so. Someone on the Digital Point forums wrote that he saw one of his sites went up to a PR7 last night so this means Google is busy doing the dreaded pagerank updates currently. For those of you who don’t know what we are talking about; Google pagerank is how Google rates the importance of your blog or site. You can end up anywhere from a 0 to 10. Obviously the higher the better and besides getting better higher up in the SERPs (Search Engine Result Pages), you will also benefit from a higher pagerank if you’re with sites like payperpost and sponsoredreviews because advertisers are willing to dish out more mooney for reviews by high PR blogs and sites. Another great way to turn your pagerank into cash has already been discussed on johncow.com previously. A recommended read for all you aspiring entrepreneurs. (FYI, Google has publicly warned webmasters that if they are or were discovered to be selling links for the purpose of conferring PageRank and reputation, their links will be devalued (ignored in the calculation of other pages’ PageRanks)

So how do you get an awesome pagerank?

pagerank-byfml.gifWell that’s one of the most asked and answered questions on the internet. Nobody really knows except for Google. People have made educated guesses and case studies on the subject and even though not 100% confirmed and correct, they seem to be the best guidelines we have at the moment. If a high ranking site links to you, Google will assume you’re important and give you a high ranking too. If you link out to too many low PR sites, Google will assume you’re a small fry and label you as one.

We are in no way an authority in the learnings of SEO but if you’d like to learn more about the subject, we can advise you click over to AndyBeard.eu. He’s got plenty of the good stuff. In the meantime we’ll keep our hooves crossed and mooo for a better pagerank. Oh, and we apologise for the longer loading times, it seems the auctionads servers are currently on strike.

How often do Google update their Page Rank ?

It will be interesting to see if my site has gone up from 0.

It has been online for about 7 weeks and I have had some decent links form some high page ranked sites.

Knowing my luck it will still be 0 :) , i can’t seem to get my head round how page rank works.

Keep up the good work with the site, it’s hilarious :)

I work hard and eventually get a PR4..

    That’s hard…

  9. I don’t believe PR predictors but according to some it says my blog may be a PR4 after the update. If that is true I sure am going to try some Review things and some TextLinkAds on my blog. My original .com is doing quite well with some extra cash as a PR5.

  10. I can’t wait for the pagerank update! I hope I get atleast a 4 and even maybe a 5!

  14. [...] It seems Google is very late this time around with their pagerank updates. Today is officially the longest time between updates, 122 days. Loads of people are sweating it because believe it or not, buying and selling links is big business! If you’ve got yourself a PR5 for example, you could make anywhere between $25 – $50 per month. PR6 and over will easily fetch you $50-$100 per month! It’s a whole new economy Google introduced with the pagerank principle. [...]
