Well I see it as you have the complete whiners who whine about everything, then you have good feedback and suggestions on what can be improved or written about.

The first you ignore let them whine with no reply, this usually just makes them even angrier and bitchier. But you shouldn’t see every suggestion or comment about what to write about as pure whine, some should be taken into consideration as after all it’s the readers who make your blog active.

Oh boy!

This is probably the best post on this blog so far…

It takes a lot of courage to say “take it or leave it!” and I admire you for this even if I’m not your biggest fan!

What I find rather funny about the people, who moan and bitch, is that if they put half of the effort into their blog, that they do into posting bitchy comments, they would get a lot more traffic.

I am really pleased you wrote this post. I feel it is in reply to my previous comment on the motivation post, which is great shows the interaction between you and your readers. It also gives reason as to justify having comments. Comments can stir up controversy and cause debate, in this case it has lead you to writing a post about the subject, which in turn giving you more interesting a purposeful content.

Don’t get me wrong I enjoy your blog and want to see it as a success which is why I am even bothering to write comments in the first place. I think the design is excellent and if I am honest is the only reason why I remember the domain and keep coming back. Maybe you could post about this?

haters always trying to catch you ridin’ dirty. I think in general it’s easier for someone to complain about what others are doing because it’s harder to look in the mirror and accept what you see or change it.

I agree completely. I have gotten some emails from readers complaining I don’t write enough about exactly how I make my money online. I’m like you it is obvious that they really didn’t do much browsing of my articles.

One of my reader wanted to know whether one of my WordPress plugins can do the custom advt. slots you have here (like TechCrunch), which is how I stumbled upon your blog.

Anyway it reminded me of a reader who complained about the ads on my blog. In reply I fully agreed with him. I also mentioned to him that it takes time and effort to create content. So I was considering a subscription model for a small amount for those who are interested in ad-free content. I inquired if he would be interested in subscribing. Interestingly I haven’t heard from him since.

I see hateful comments all too often on several blogs I’ve done. Some take the length of actual blog entries.. I can’t see it as anything more than jealousy over the fact someone is able to write, and also spite that you are doing well.

Some people are taking this way to seriously. Who cares if some a$$hole posts something in the comments section of your blog. Is that comment really hurting your blog? Are you going to make less money because of a few negative comments? Spamming is one thing but a few comments here and there isn’t the end of the world. Just deal with it.

I love this post as I hate it when people complain about you not blogging about a certain subject. Especially when its “make money online” If you are complaining about a blogger not posting “make money online” posts, maybe you should spend less time reading and more time making money online;)

One thing I hate more than comment whiners is a blog owner that makes a whole post damning and whining about their own community which got them where they are. Just because you are big enough now to ignore helpful hints and ideas of what to include in your sites/blog posts doesn’t mean you didn’t use/should have used all the help you could get as you got to this peak. Ungrateful whiner.

Sparky: Ever thought that we might have a community exactly because of what we write? And we never ignore helpful hints and ideas. Saying we suck because we do a post which isn’t directly related to making money online doesn’t qualify as helpful in our book. Gee, we know we hurt your feelings when we poked Tyler, but your fanboyism is starting to get obsessive. And you shouldn’t hate yourself for being the “comment whiner” that you’ve just described.

I agree somewhat with Andy that there really isn’t a need for a whole post complaining about a very few people. Almost every commentor has said that they have dealt with this issue at some point, just deal with it.

If you’re going to communicate on the internet, you need thick skin. That’s just how the internet works. And don’t bother arguing on the internet. You’re better off watching grass grow.

I just wanted to add that while my blog isn’t ‘big’ enough to have experienced this problem just yet, I totally agree that it is up to you how you wish to run this blog. It’s your brain child to do as you please.

Yes all the famous blogs experience negative feedback it’s nothing new. I understand it’s annoying after a while but is it worth dedicating an entire post to? Even my small pathetic blog with minimal traffic received tonnes of negative feedback and all I could do was either deal with it (because it adds flavour to your site ) or ignore it and accept the fact that the larger your blog is, the more annoying and whinney comments your blog will get. Great post though I enjoy rants sometimes!!!

If you don’t like what you’re reading, then don’t read it! Or continue to read it, if you can learn or benefit from it. Your blog is your blog, and you can do what you want with it. Too often, people put their no good opinion where it just doesn’t apply. I like to bitch on my blog every now and then. It makes me feel better. I don’t care if I’m not entertaining you. People have blogs for reasons other than making money, though I’m frequently amused by the Google ads that pop up on my site!
