Sometimes it is good to break free from your normal routine. There are some things you should be doing everyday, or following your new post. Others are just a waste of time. Keep a journal and document what you do, and how well it actually paid off. After a week, decide on what really worked. If you are doing some things just to get an extra 10 hits, you may want to try finding something else that will pay off better.

If all else fails, take the day off. Site back, do nothing, forget that you even have a web site. Come back with a clean slate and new mindset. This could help you break away from your OCD patterns.

The funny thing is I think most of us do this. I check my google reader hoping for stuff to read at times, continue to refresh gmail and browse through the same sites when i should be writing or doing work. What a crazy life we live.

It’s so easy to fall into this loop in the make money online world, probably because unless you have seen solid returns, it’s tough to stay motivated, keep trying, and start new things.

What I have found helps a LOT is instead of having your mind on the big picture, break down your day into mini tasks and goals you can tick off when done. This gives you something specific to work on and accomplish, instead of just “making money”.

Wow that hit home hard as I’ve been in the loop the last 1 hour with lot’s of stuff to do tomorrow. It’s ridiculous how easy it is to spin tires online too lazy to do x which could bring in traffic yet you’ll do a routine constantly that produces nothing but sore hands. I think alot of it has to do with water seeping to the lowest level. Work is actually work, online or offline doing your checks is easy and takes no mental thought.
