OK.. some words were thrown (ok, maybe more tossed), some assumptions were made (we all know what assuming does) and finally enough was enough… one cow could only take so much. We dropped the hammer and called Garry (yes there are two r’s… I kept forgetting that) out for a fight. Well actually, not really a fight, just a competition.
Announcing….
Garry Conn vs John Cow
We are going to go head to head and build a blog completely from scratch in a non IM niche and after one month, whoever gets the highest price for there blog from sitepoint… will be the winner. (tentative plan)
We still need to work out all the details but we will let you know as soon as Garry (remember the two r’s) and us figure it all out.
The cool thing is we are going to share everything we do, so you can all see first hand what we are doing, how we do it and you can maybe (hopefully anyway) learn a thing or two.
Oh… and we are going to donate our winnings (because we are going to win.. yes Garry, that means you are going to lose) to World Vision (a pretty darn good cause in our opinion).

I’ll say this… I do like the new owner of John Cow.. whether that be a dosed up Bob on Prozac or a entirely new person… I look forward to taking this cow to the slaughter.

This sounds like a fun and interesting competition! I hope that it doesn’t just turn out to be a popularity contest though, hope the sites get bid up for there content and value rather then just “I bought John Cows blog!”

I wouldn’t worry, it’s not Bill Gates…
My guess is that the new Cow is an Irish person…
I could be totally wrong but I reckon it is somebody Bob met while he lived in Dublin, a UCD student maybe??? & he/she didn’t buy out the blog, just guest posting for a % of the revenue share…
We wont know till it’s announced here & the new writer seems cunning enough to hold off that announcement until they know the readership will keep visiting, so i’m sure the guess work is doing some good.
I’d suggest that the new owner/writer open a new poll asking ‘who am i’ or ‘where am i from’…should provide a good bit of linkbait…

As for Garry being worried, I don’t think he is, so dont bother reassuring him. The guy is very intelligent and knows lots of good stuff… we are sure he will put a great site together… we just know ours will be better. GUARANTEED
Anyway, we have not even worked out the details yet, and so what the contest is based on is still up in the air. Not even going to mention a word about any ideas anymore for the contest because i know some loud mouth will come in and say something negative, even though it is just an idea… been happening at Garry’s blog… which is a great blog people should check out. Lots of good tips (except for the Johncow post he made… that was not my favorite one
)
Let’s make contact off the air waves so that we can discuss how we want to go about playing this game.
I’ll have a post going live in a few hours on my blog that basically asks my readers if they have any suggestions about how they would like to see the competition run, etc… folks reading here, I encourage you to brainstorm for some creative ideas as well. I am sure that is one thing the JCDC and GCDC can agree on.
What are somethings that come to mind? How would you like me to slaughter the cow? Do you like T-Bone or do you prefer Ribeye?

Great point about the ideas though Garry… we will put a post together a little later on that. We first need to finish the next keyword lesson.
