Internet Business is the best MMORPG

MMORPG’s (a Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game), are incredibly popular mediums of gaming. With the likes of World of Warcraft, EVE Online, and upcoming games Warhammer Online and Age of Conan, the industry is constantly growing and evolving. Being an MMORPG gamer myself, and an internet entrepreneur I can draw a number of parallels to why an internet business is the best MMORPG.

  1. Massively. World of Warcraft may have upwards of eight million players, but as an internet business you have access to everyone who is connected to the internet. You can sell stuff to people in Australia, you can outsource to India, you can import from China, and you can receive traffic (and revenue) from anyone with a internet connection.
  2. Multiplayer. With the rise of social networks such as MySpace and Facebook, networking has become a more important facet of internet business. People make friends, make enemies, fall in love (and much more!) through MMORPG’s. With an internet business you’ll be meeting people, some you’ll like, others you won’t. To get heard you must be apart of communities, whether it’s a forum, a social network, someone else’s or your own blog.
  3. Online. This one is fairly obvious. Obviously an internet business is online - if yours isn’t, then you may have a problem.
  4. Role-playing. Operating a network of sites, a community, or an ecommerce store requires you to play various roles. You may be the team leader, giving directions and setting goals for the business. For many, starting a new business will require you to play many roles: the boss, the accountant, the supervisor, the secretary - they’re roles you may be required to assume, and you have to be ready.
  5. Game. It’s all a game. Internet business is a game. Each step you take is a new level: a new mission objective. If you fail once, don’t worry, there’s a second life, and then a third. Failed three times? Game over? Not likely, put your money back into the machine and keep playing. If you take your ventures too seriously you take all the fun out of it. Sure, you need structure, things to be done in a timely manner, and be concerned about profit and loss, but if you don’t enjoy running your own business, maybe you should consider just getting 9-5 job?

That’s a pretty good analogy, working online is definitely one big game. I wish that everyone was taught this in the very beginning too…and then those slick landing pages promising big houses, fast cars, and loose women in 30 days or less might dry up. And playing this game can be VERY addictive - especially when you’re constantly striving to make more money!

Internet Business = Gaming … unique concept!

There are some distinct similarties. You also have to constantly listen to people telling you are playing it all wrong… which I hate. ;)

Ha, I’d forgotten I’d even written this, I submitted it so long ago. :)

Glad people like the analogy.

Great analogy. I guess for some of us, it’s a progression from warcraft to making money online.

Aren’t we all just playing some kind of role. It’s an MMORPG without hacking and slashing monsters but the grind to gain traffic and readers is almost the same.

An interesting idea, but not really a new concept. Many others have made the connection.

You can certainly draw similarities and principles between online gaming and making money online.

its ture most of the MMORPG players are wasting so much time to getting gold or training their levels, and this procedure is damn boring, isnt it? i do play some MMOPRG too, and i suffer from this for a long time then finally tried online game shop, i personally do not hate this online game shop, its fine for me as long as they are not scammer or getting me my stuff that i bought for not like forever. there are not many shop do good job though, i only wanna recommend one place to you guys its http://www.viccol.com , hang out there a bit whenever you need any help about your boring getting-gold life.. good luck guys and enjoy your game!

MMorg’s can be used to enhance your brand ……..

You can promote your company through interactive games ….
