You may have noticed a few changes around the JC pastures in regards to advertising blocks. The reason is we are testing a tracking different options to ensure that our sponsors get the most bang for their buck.

• We have removed two of the sidebar 125×125 banners to allow for less competition for the ads… having 8 was too many in our opinion.
• We have added an inlne 250 x 250 sponsorship block that is front and center when you come to the blog and appears with every post. There are 2 spots available here and they rotate. This is a HUGE exposure position.
• We have also added a 300×250 block to the bottom of the posts directly above the popular comments area.
• Last but not least we have added two small ad block 243 X 60 in the footer of JohnCow.
• We have tested a peel away ad but removed that, we were not happy with it.

Now as you would suspect, since the traffic and readership of Johncow is up and growing, so would the advertising prices… well we decided that we wanted to test a few things still and as a results we are leaving good enough alone for a little while yet and we actually lowered the price on the review post to $150 from $200 (We might be eliminating the post option all together… not sure yet).

One of the other things that we are also just implementing is “Outside Promotion” of our sponsors. We are not into taking our sponsors money and running… we want them to get exceptional results and the better their results the more they will want to advertise with us. So we are now implementing an offsite promotion system with each sponsorship package that will be based upon the sponsorship selected. Obviously we will give a little more to someone spending $150 with us rather then $30.

So not only do you get the fantastic exposure by joining the elite group of people that sponsior JohnCow you are also now going to get the added bonus of even more promotion outside of Johncow (sorry but we are not sharing what we are doing but it is whitehat and effective).
