Got Over Ourselves

Yes we we’re a little annoyed yesterday and therefor closed the comment section for a while. We got over ourselves eventually and figured that we can’t live without your comments! You’re good to go again. And Mike, thanks for the apology email you sent us after your comments. Merry Christmas to you too.

After our aspirin breakfast and two hours of house cleaning, we remembered why parties are fun – at someone else’s house! We had friends over from 7 PM till 5 AM and had a blast, or so we were told. After 11-ish, things are a bit blurry. But apparently we’re excellent poker players when heavily intoxicated. $300 isn’t a bad catch for a couple of hours of poker  It just about covered the cost of the booze we provided.

Here’s a picture of the crap we faced when we woke up. Too bad we can’t show you just how frigging sticky the floor was everywhere!

Unfortunately something else we were reminded of is the importance of testing new code on your live website or blog. We went offline for a couple of hours at midnight, because there was a small typo somewhere in the awesome new statistics/tracker module the OIOPublisher plugin guys are developing. We’re lucky enough that we’ve got cool readers that ping us when there are problems. Thanks guys!

Apparently it caused a little stir, and many people are making a bigger fuss out of it then us. So we had a bit of downtime, shit happens.

Well, I wish I had alcohol intoxication to blame for being a jackass, but that’s not the case. I’m glad the downtime was minimal and you’re back up man.

To add a little more poetic justice to the situation, I’ve been fighting with my WP powered article directory all morning trying to get the MySQL load down on my server. Apparently WordPress doesn’t handle nearly 50,000 articles very well.

Anyways… Glad all is well. Happy Holidays!

Cmon, how smart move was that? Turing of the comments because you can’t take a little criticism from your readers? You know, you guys can really make it online but you are going to have to get a grip of where you going…

  14. I was about to blog about how you were whining and turning off the comments, but I guess I won’t have to now.

I remember my time at a student dorm and oh well, it IS better to party at someone elses house… hopefully you locked up your sleeping rooms  some people could have jumped in to use that as a docking station. That’s not even half as funny as cleaning up that mess…

Ha ha this story is great!!! I especially like the fact that the developer tried to digg this? I know people say any publicity is good publicity but come on…..

  21. Clog Money says:

p.s was not having a go here, as a professional developer myself I have seen people who are fantastic programmers take out entire computer networks with rogue code. Humans, flawless we are not.
