Thanks for the great post on the Google keyword tool. I wonder if you could help me with the below.

I often search and there are 1000's of results displayed in the Approx Avg Search Volume column yet the data from the previous month is "Insufficient Data".

This does not make logical senses to me as how can there be no search volume (Insufficient data) during previous months if there are 1000's on an average month.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Google has finally clarified its search numbers. Are they accurate? Don't know. I do know that now I can go back through my keyword phrases on my website and optimize them a little better. Also I can eliminate many that were guesstimated. Good for google. Now let's go skydiving!

According to the new keyword tool Google gets more searches for "google" on Google than it does for "yahoo" or "msn".

Jerry, do you rank #1 for that keyword you did a test for... on all G data centers? If not, that might be the reason why your numbers are off.

I only use the Google keyword tool to look for phrases and not for actual search figures/numbers, there are still much better tools out there like Wordtracker. If Google is recommending a phrase, you should consider it.

Even if the numbers are inflated, it gives you a number which is much better than a bar. In addition, it is much easier to compare the various words.

THANKS, Jerry! And much thanks to John Cow for having Jerry West do guest blogging on this subject. I really appreciate getting good, reliable info on this new tool from you guys. I know I can trust you both. It makes it much easier to learn how to do this stuff when I don't have to be on guard against hype or hidden agendas. Jerry, the way you're presenting this is clear and to the point -- muchas gracias! I have so much anxiety about all the time it takes to learn things b4 I get proficient enough to actually make money, so I don't take it for granted when a good teacher like you shows how things work quickly & easily. Sweet!

put quotes around the phrase when searching. google is showing you who is advertising for that exact term, if someone has just one word frm that term as a ad then they will appear.
