Most of you know Digg and what it means once your article hits the front page. The traffic levels can become insane (We had 40,000+ unique hits two months ago on one article over at bobmeetsworld.com) and many a server had to succumb to the mighty power of Digg and crashed. Just imagine what this can do potentially to the amount of regular readers to your blog or your ad revenue!
So the trick is to get people digging your story (duh!) and this was the hard part until a friend of ours decided to change things around and introduce the collective power of Diggbarter.com to the world. The concept is simple; You Digg for a Digg. When you sign up you are able to submit links of posts you want to get dugg. One digg requires one credit.
So do you have to buy credits? No way, you earn a credit every time you digg a story for someone else. So if you digg 20 stories for 20 different people you will receive 20 credits which you can convert into 20 diggs for your own story!
From a technical point of view, the site lets you visit Digg through a series of anonymous proxies so you won’t get into trouble since you can’t be traced
Diggbarter.com has just gone live after and is still very much beta, but it works! and we’ve been told that some exciting new features will be introduced in the near future where you can actually sell your earned credits for real money to others that want to get dugg. An RSS feed will warn you when there are opportunities for you to digg stuff and earn credits.
Become a beta member today and you might get some extra kudos from them. Needless to say; “Spreading the word will increase the percentage of people that will digg your stories!” Oh, and someone was kind enough to Digg our 14 days later post, we’d appreciate it if you could do the same. It’d be our first time on Digg!

“loves” cows?
Wonder how long it takes Digg to work out how to ban that site, cool idea though
Yea, my concern is getting my account banned from digg somehow. Interesting idea though.
The people that have been using this are still with Digg. Have a look at the FAQ, they should answer your questions
Another thing you can do is to sign up with a different username than the one you use on Digg. Other people Digg your posts, not you, so there is virtually no way Digg can tell if the people who Dugg your story/post were regular internet folk or members of that site. And even if they were to find out who the members were, using a different username should shield you from that too.
By the way any ideas how many diggs would a story require to get on the front page?
Nobody knows that info.
Good advice
Info4Bringrich, I think as soon as you get 51 diggs you get on the Hoimepage.
Personally I wouldn’t use a tool like this to massage Digg, or any similar site, at the end of the day if people like your content and what you have to say they will Digg your stories.
I agree with you, but at the same time people need to see your content to know if they like it or not. Getting dugg is not only about getting more traffic, but also about getting exposure. It’s hard as hell to market yourself on the internet (or even in real life), so anything that can help that isn’t completely crazy is cool to me.
But I do think there may be the potential for abuse. Hey, this site has readers from John Chow, and we all now just how evil he can be!
But I really digg this story! Thanks Mr. Moo for letting us know about it. FYI, I just signed up and it says they only have 60 beta testers right now, so if you get in early and the site blows up (well, not from the server crashing, lol), then you could be positioning yourself for something great down the line.
Sounds like a great opportunity to get dugg and blow up a server
I wrote about it too, it’s great.
Just read this now, must have had my head under a rock this time last month
Anyways, good post, ill read the FAQ’s but im sure I can get Diggs in other ways
