Getting Freaky With Forums
| Share |
Webmaster forums seem to pop up from time to time. Today, we have the pleasure of reviewing one. Bzimage.org is a typical forum in the mold of Digital Point where people can go to discuss all manner of webmaster topics. Although we can’t figure out what “Bzimage” means, we signed up anyway and had a look through the different forums.
There are heaps of forums to sift through. Again, similar to Digital Point, there are forums for all the major search engines, forums about marketing, business forums, tech and gadget forums, and so on.
There is also a marketplace where you can buy and sell services, links, websites, domains, content – basically anything to do with the Internet. Unsurprisingly, the marketplace forum is the busiest of the lot, although at the time of writing it contained only 453 posts.

Bzimage is a new forum and it’s gradually filling up with posts and users. At the moment, there are 2,072 users who have made 2,361 threads between them. As with most forums, you can add signature links, although we weren’t able to do so as new users.
You can also add your Adsense code into your profile and get a cut of money made from Adsense ads that appear in discussions you take part in. Trouble is, we couldn’t find any Adsense blocks throughout the entire forum.
Bzimage uses reputation and infraction systems. It’s really just a straight-up forum. As with all new forums, it is worth checking out to promote your websites and products to new eyes and make connections with new people.
The color scheme isn’t particularly inspiring and could perhaps do with sprucing up a little. It’s all a bit dull for out liking.

This new SEO forum is worth checking out, if only because it has a Page Rank of 6, which means that if you leave your signature links in a few places you might pick up some valuable juice for the search engines.
A plus point of this forum is that it is yet to be infiltrated with people out to scam you, as you find on Digital Point. One of the problems with Digital Point is that it’s incredibly hard to assess who to trust. For that reason alone, we cows don’t trust anyone on Digital Point and we are careful abut who we do business with.
Bzimage is obviously not going to become as big as Digital Point any time soon, but with a small group of honest users, it could be a resource worth logging into on a regular basis.

So…it’s a DP clone? A rather small DP clone?
@ Cant Get Rich
Not necessarily a clone, rather a small forum thats been inspired by DP
I wouldn’t call it a DP clone, there are hundreds of webmaster forums with the same discussion sections as DP. It looks alright, but I agree their style is a little dull, maybe a nice blue would fit good and for their stats (PR6 and 63,000 Alexa), they don’t have many members or posts.
Nice review, Cow.
Given the state of DigitalPoint at this time, being part of a few smaller forums may be no bad thing! DP has become a bit too spammy for my liking, because of its size.
Having said that, I would have liked to see a newer forum such as this evolving slightly beyond just being a DP clone.
i used to be all over forums, but now, i don’t have time
Wow a forum paid for a review?

Nice, honest review.

You would hope as an SEO forum they would realize that the google bot only reads the anchor text of the first mention of the link on the page. So, their anchor text in your review, “SEO forum,” is not going to be read by google since the anchor text “Bzimage.org” was used in the first paragraph. They should have had you put deep links as other links to their forum. Way to get off on the right foot as far as credibility as a great SEO forum goes.
Digital Point is such a pile of garbage now. Just a bunch of scam artists and regurgitated ebooks.
I mainly stick to WickedFire right now.
The forum looks very new..Anyways I am gonna sign it up and have a go at it,Let me see what i can learn from there
Bzimage = Biz Image. It’s a no-brainer, Cow. Thanks for the link. Keep up your great work!
currently I’m in talkgold.com forum …will check BZimage
Mr.Cow… You thought I am comparing you with Darren of ProBlogger
I told you that the other big blogs who stayed at entrecard don’t want to rank in the top 3 positions or aether get those 50 visitors. They stayed to help small blogs “which are all across entrecard” collecting credits to advertise on blogs like yours and Darrens, Chow’s… and show their blog at the internet like you or any BIG blogger did at the beginning! Honestly I don’t like this move and you should go back there not to rank in he top 3 but to HELP SMALL BLOGS GROW WHICH WILL MAKE YOU A GREAT BLGGER! (as you are
) I am a subscriber sense your blog had about 600 and I think that you are a great blogger… And you laughed me with your Moooooosssss

See who’s ranked #1 for Make Mooney Online
Yes, Biz Image, cos that makes so much more sense.
Jack, there were no requests made for anchor text or pages to link to.
It seems great. Why not just try? I’ve been with DP, but I have to say there are too many scams there. Thanks for the link.
Well, what I see there is most of the topics are locked by admin. I mean that’s ridiculous to visit them with some hopes to find a good discussion, and rather see the topics locked in most of the forums. It not only gives me fear in mind about my topics getting locked and also certainty that I would not be able to find out any informative discussion. I just stayed away from signing up even after visiting them through your review, post or whatever!
Well done to them on their success already. Starting a forum is INCREDIBLY difficult, so well done.
Thanks for the heads up. Just joined.
Thank you guys for the honest review!
We will take your crits with open arms and work towards providing the best User Forum on the net! We have already started on working with a new skin, and we hope to show it to you all soon! Feel free to sign up to the forum and check back often for updates and new free stuff!
Enjoy

I love BZI and have since I was invited to join not too long back.
It is NOT a DP (the rat’s nest) clone.
It is a nice community where we help one another on many subjects like seo, banners, etc.
Locked topics? Only locked topics are those for registered users, mods, and those registered users with 20 or more posts.
I would invite everyone to come and really stick with us at BZI, as it is a breath of fresh air!
I have been thinking about starting a forum under by bellinghaminformation domain but I will need to wait untill I have enough users.
Hey John, how about a post on your pick of the top forums to use to gain traffic?
Also:
There are two cows in a field. One says “Moo.” The other one says “I was going to say that!”
A nice honest review, personally i love bz its a great place were members can learn alot while having the chance to have a laugh at the same time, not many places are like that anymore.
Angel It’s a Good Review, I like that form Color, first i thought it’s a clone of DP nah its different however they had PR 6
bzimage is the name given to a large linux kernel right after the compile finishes. From there, it is usually renamed to something vendor specific.
Thanks for the info. Haven’t heard about it before. Got to check it out because like to spend in forum when I have the time. The got PR 6 already. so one more forum to put links. what wonderful world.
DP is a now full of garbage, BZI is good.
That’s a nice forum to get freaky with. It’s a good initiative to contribute to forum to gain link-love and PR leaks.
Chip’s last blog post..Joke Of The Day: Helpdesk Log
When I click on the SEO Forum you talk about it doesn’t go to a forum website it goes to some other website and that site has a PR of 2. Are the links not working right? I’m confused
