Get Off The Make Money Online BandWagon & Make a Fortune!

Want to Learn How to Build a Business Not Just a Blog.. for FREE? CLICK HERE Now to Find Out How!

I need to be completely honest here and I am just going to say it like it is. If you are just starting out online and want to create a blog and choose to create a ‘Make Money Online’ blog… you are missing the BIG PICTURE!

When I started online I did absolutely nothing in the “Online Business” niche… instead I had websites on health, parenting and so on. The reason I got into this business (Make Money Online) is because 3 years ago we were able to take what we were successfully doing with our business and teach others how to do it successfully… and we made a lot of money doing that. It was also what made me realize that I LOVE to teach people about running a business online –> “It is my passion”. This is why I jumped at the opportunity to buy JohnCow… i wanted to have a blog like this for over 2 years now.

So, when I see someone that is working for minimum wage and has no clue about Making Money Online and wants to start a blog and immediately jump on the bandwagon because they see that some others are making money here it frustrates me to absolutely no end.

If you want to make money online then you need to get this through your head right now…

“FOCUS ON WHAT YOU ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT HELPING PEOPLE WITH”

Since i have taken over ownership of JohnCow, I have walked through building two blogs with you and I hope you notice that neither of them had anything to do with the MMO (Make Money Online) niche.

OK, now I do not want to sound like a hypocrite but Yes there is money to be made in practically any niche.. including the MMO niche but it is a lot harder if you are not passionate about it.

Want proof… well I will show you proof.

I just got off the phone with a guy whose name I will with-hold until a little later (just because I want to make this fun and interesting), but I called him because I recieved an email from a reader of JohnCow who wanted me to check something out… and DAMN am I ever glad I did. This is exactly the type of stories I love because it backs up exactly what I want people to understand.

You see this guy (lets call him Mr X for even more fun.. oh and he was recently featured in Young Money magazine, so if you are bored you can probably figure out who he is) tried doing this the way others were doing it… not following his passion but following what looked to be working for others.

Well guess what???

That was going no where!

Then suddenly he decided to follow something that I preach over and over again…

“Make a plan and MAKE IT YOUR OWN PLAN”

Mr X decided that he was going to follow his passion and put a plan together that was modified to be completely his own plan.

NOTE –> This is so important to understand that it is not that he did not listen to others but he took from others what he wanted to and made it into his own plan. Do not take anything I give you here at Johncow as the one and only way… you need to look at it as a guideline and modify it to be your own personal plan.

So how has this worked out for Mr X?

Well 4 months ago he made $9,000 in one month, then the next month $15,000, then last month $45,000 and with less then half of this month gone through he is already at $30,000 (looks like a $60,000 + month for him)

Want to know how he did it and how you can do it?

Well I am going to be doing a podcast with Mr X on Monday and I will reveal all about it them. His name, website and everything. I promise, there is nothing to buy, nothing to opt in for or anything. This is purely 100% content and I am doing it to prove to you that following your ‘passion’ and making your ‘own’ plan works!

So, What Questions Do You Got for Mr. X?

(the call will not be live but will be recorded and uploaded this coming Monday… so please ask away)

Oh there is one catch… I m going to be getting a written transcript of the call but that will only be made available to those that are subscribed to JohnCow via email and I promise you this is going to be KICK BUTT content!

Really waiting forward for the podcast. I have been blogging and freelance writing in the make money online niche. Though I have been successful to a certain extent, I also wanted to write about something I really like a lot. So I started a blog on my passion and it has just started to do well.

Nice post. I try to convey this a lot on my own blog to my readers. By the way, I know exactly who is on the cover of that magazine. I’ve got his book and soon to buy his DVD. To answer “sell porn make money”s question about profit vs revenue for mr X. He’s talking about profit. In fact, last month his blog made a profit of over $45,000.00

That reminds me of Timothy Sykes, the kid who turned an insane profit in the stock market (lucky son of a gun! ). That’s definitely true though, you have to diversity and stay away from the whole flow of things if you want ot make real money.

However, that’s not to say you can’t make a bundle in what’s hot. Being in a hot industry can make you a very rich person, even if you are doing exactly what everyone else is doing. Remember: the trend is your friend ;)

That is exactly what we have been doing. Not bringing in 45K per mo, but still doing well for a single niche. I really don’t think people should be running a MMO blog unless they are MMO outside of it. Once you have some success outside of it, you can then teach others and make some income in the MMO. Just be real, honest, and helpful.

Nice post. Sounds really interesting. Look forward to the interview.

I totally agree about the passion part, you’ve got to be ‘into’ what you do or you’ve got a hill to climb. That doesn’t mean you can only work within a niche you love. For example your passion could be building niche blogs for example. It is the researching, setting up and monetising of niche blogs that is the thing that floats your boat.

The thing is to think about what you are into, not just at a detailed level but dare I say at a conceptual or ‘meta’ level. That sounds lame, but for example I call myself a ‘leanaholic’ and it the learning of new ideas and information that floats my boat. With leaning as my ‘big thing’ I am motivated to do a wide variety of things as long as I feel I am learning cool new stuff.

This is great that you said it. I have always said that in the end, with my blogging at least, it has to be about the content. At least for my own integrity. I gave away my passions for years. Now I want to earn something back for a doing what I love to do. For me, it is still and will always be about the content. The rest is just icing on the cake.

Maybe I can start a blog about my spending money! All kidding aside, I live the life I am passionate about and when I unveil what I am working on, in a month or two, I will reach my goal.

I agree, you’ve got to be interested and have a passion for what you write. Like Garry Conn says…pick something you can write about without having to do tons of research!

Not that you can’t research, but it shouldn’t be the bulk of what you write, you should be able to produce content without doing tons of studying. Basically, know about what you are writing, or have a passion…yeah, you already said that and I’m just going the long way around.

Okay, great post! I’m done

Hmmm.. dunno John Cow.. there’s a fine line between confidence and arrogance, and he Sykes jumped that line long ago… and paid handsomely for it. Not only that, but Tim Sykes is kind of a douche. If you’re going to talk about how much money this guy made, you really ought to have a disclaimer at the bottom talking about how much money he lost.

Hello John Cow,

Let me start by saying I really enjoy your blog, the attitude, the way you do your business, it is like a refreshing glass of milk!

My question for Mr. X would be this. What advice would you give to someone who has been working with the internet for over 10 years, has yet to fully invest himeself in creating money online (aside from creating web sites for others!)? The truth is I want to create money online by sharing my passions, but I have been blocked for so long! I’ve gathered all the information about how to do it that there’s nothing left to gather… It’s like I’m afraid to make the step forward for fear of failure or that the process will be too hard.

I judge myself harshly because I think I should have done it by now. But I have to face reality and know that I just need to start. My plan is to fully use your book, John Cow, to the fullest extent. What have you got for me Mr. X?

Thanks for your help!

Dre

I started blogging in the make money online niche. Then after a month or so, I jumped off it partly because I myself wasn’t making any money (I was a newbie) and the niche seemed so boring. So, I started a blogging tips blog. Although, I like writing about making money online, I plan to do it in a “Young Entrepreneur Blog” not a “make money online” one.

My question is: how much do the different niches affect what you do? What works for MMO may not work for health (my blog topic).

We need to make the plan our own, undoubtedly. But then how do I know which stuff to take and which to leave? I hope the answer to the above is also part of the answer to this.

That really resonates with me. When thinking about starting my blog I wondered what I’d want to share with people that wouldn’t feel like a chore to write articles about…. As a personal trainer it naturally followed to do a fitness blog. I haven’t really started to monetize yet, but just writing the articles and hopefully helping/inspiring readers just feels so great already. Thanks so much for this blog. Allyn, it is all about automation. there is not enough time in a day to manage growing online assets. for authority-type sites, you have to post every day, even better - few times a day. and for niche sites - you have to have a lot of them to make any significant income. Try to find ways to automate your business. good luck!

Also, the most important thing is you must be passionate about whatever plan you are going to follow. This is the real ingredient to being successful.

So just recently I stopped working on my niche websites (well almost) and started working on my blog. I love writing about this sort of stuff and I think it really makes a difference in the end to both me and my readers.
