Is getting traffic on more competitive phrases such as ‘make money online’ a possibility at all?
Ajith — Anything is possible, but as you know that is a very competitive phrase. The question becomes are you willing to spend the time and effort required to rank for that phrase.
I would focus on low traffic terms first. Once you are ranking for those move to mid traffic terms and finally the high traffic terms. Just keep in mind it requires quite a time commitment.

I actually took a look at “College Jobs” keyword using my Micro Niche Finder and it has about 10,000 monthly searches and high SOC (strength of competition) so it looks impressive. $1 trial should be a no brainer to try.
Might be a good try…since it’s just $1 as compared to paid advertising
