My first reward to myself when I break 50k a month will be a shiny new macbook pro in each room of my house maybe even two in the kitchen just to be stupid wasteful. Will be tricky talking the woman into letting me install a mount in the bathroom though.

Once again you have listed some of my favorite tools. I have never used Ecto or Vienna but you can bet once I get back home to my real machine (my iMac versus this POS PC.. just kidding!) I will check them out. I second or whatever the votes for Leopard, Coda, and PS3 being great blogging tools.

I am using Windows and very satisfied to its performance. But i believe Mac is better than windows in designing.

Hey bmunch, all I can tell you is that linux is awesome. Linux, like Mac OS is derived from Unix. Don’t be afraid to migrate to linux from windows, you will find it 100000% better than windows. There is a lot of programs and tools GPL (free of charge) and you probably will find many tools for your needs. All I can say is once you use linux or mac, you CANT return to use windows

I can see quite a few of the commenters are using the Penguin (Linux). Any tools to recommend on that platform?

I am planning to shift to the Penguin, but is afraid of the learning curve.

Not sure why I have not being hyped to use the Mac Daddy. I think have previous bad experience with the single button mouse.

Nice list there! I'm a Mac user myself and I really find those tools pretty nice. But I have something for you (and other Mac users) that is much cooler and easier to use instead of Resizr. It's a dashboard widget called Image Shackle. Hope you find that useful! You won't need to go online for an image resizer or even open an application like Photoshop just to resize an image. As a Mac noob these tips are always welcome. I have come to realize that in the Windows world there many options for software and generally none of them are perfect, and in the Mac world you get only a few options but there will definitely be the perfect solution.

Thanks for the list. I never know what’s good to use with Mac because I’ve only had mine for less then 5 months. I currently use Skitch for my pictures and I also use Cyberduck for my new WP blog. I’m going to have to try Ecto, but did you know Firefox has a word count add-on? You do use Firefox with your Mac right????

I hope you write more Mac posts in the future.
