There has been a discussion in Digital Point that Google has started banning those proxy owners. Because, for providing highly targeted ads, google visits a site and analyzes its content. This is not possible in proxy, since its contents are dynamic and non repeating.

Casual visitors will not understand the relation, they will have to go to the site every time, and that isn’t really smart. The goal is to keep people on this site for the funny content, not have them go to another site just to explain the joke.

But maybe there is a way he can tie in a save the planet message.

I just saw something at Neatorama that made me think of you, and it gave me an idea. Instead of "buy me a glass of milk" (or in addition to it since it's so JohnChow-like), you can run a "Save the planet - buy me a glass of Pepto Bismol" campaign.
