Don’t Be A Shy Affiliate Marketer
| Share |
If you are selling affiliate products do you give the visitor what they want? In other words, how easy do you make it for them to find the product you’re promoting.
The point here is, visitors will come to your site looking for the solution you’re offering. One of the big mistakes many affiliates make is they can make it difficult for people to find the all important link which will take the visitor to the product they are obviously there to look at.
For some reason, many people get timid about pushing a product. They are timid about what we call driving the click. Let’s face it, many people who go to a website looking for their solution are a little like sheep. They need to be grabbed by the hand and told where to click. They’ve never seen your site before and the last thing you want is to have them spend too much time getting familiar with it.
One of the first things that should grab their attention is the product you’ve based the site around. Too often we see people having to scroll and scroll, reading content when the act you want them to commit is look at the product you’re promoting.
Don’t be afraid to make it as obvious and easy for them to complete the action you want. Affiliate marketing is becoming more and more cut throat and if they don’t buy from you they’ll most certainly buy from someone else. You see, if you have optimized correctly for the keyword you’re targeting which should be a long tail buying phrase, then the visitor that lands on your site is there already in a buying mood.
The last thing they want to do is spend time reading through content and marvel at your literary skills. Give them what they want. Give them the bullet points they want to see; a short review and the opportunity to click through very early in the piece.
Remember, they are very interested in the product because they have more than likely gone to the trouble of typing it’s name or a phrase relating to what it will do for them so from a pre-sell angle, there’s little to do.
Are you a shy affiliate marketer?

They have completed 2 of the 3 steps. They’ve searched, they’ve arrived, now you close the deal.
Good reminder. I was wondering what ever happened to John Cow TV? Did you get cow back? Did someone win the contest? Also I don’t think you ever really answered your what is it all for post. No problem if you’ve moved on or are planning on working on these later. I was just wondering if I missed some posts or something.
Repose. If you are shy you will probably never become a great affiliate marketer.
I’m a shy affiliate marketeer. I don’t even take the first step!
Hi John,
I’m a newbie, it’s important to me to do. thanks.
very true and I would add that I get annoyed with guys who on their sites find it necessary to point out that “yes this is an affiliate link” or on the other hand, “this is not a paid review here so that means I must really believe in this product.”
honestly, that’s crap. Does Rush Limbaugh tell you that every commercial is paid for on his radio show? No, it is obvious. people trust him and buy, period.
If you are an affiliate marketer, then don’t apologize for it, just sell some stuff!!!!

I really have not tried plunging into this field of affiliate marketing, albeit I have this impression that one can make money better from it if done right. But do I actually have to make active sales pitches in order to achieve sales or is it possible to just place a link on my blog, and then just do nothing yet still realize some sales?
Recently, finally I’d found myself as extreme “shy” type people. I must fight “shyness” to become good marketer.
I need to look into becoming an affiliate marketer, although i think my blog has nothing to do with it because i just blog on whatever, should blogs be more focused on one particular niche for us to become an affiliate marketer?
I’m struggling with this, too. Here is an example of one of my posts – it’s meant to be informative, yet I’m not making many sales.

Should I be sticking a “buy now” button next to it?
Maybe using a text box insert in the post?
Suggestions?
