As you are most likely aware, John Cow is not a real person (hope we are not shocking anyone here) but their always has been a real person behind it. The person used to be a guy named Bob Jones… who just recently openly mentioned he was no longer behind Johncow.com
There have also been numerous rumors as to who the new John Cow is and a couple have guessed it right such as “Andy Beard” who has one of the better blogs out there in our opinion (next to Johncow.com of course).
So why have we not shared with our readers who we are?
Well there are a few good reasons (in our minds anyway)
- Our number one concern was the fans of Bob Jones. We did not want people jumping ship right away with out giving us at least a chance to speak. It can be hard to accept change and often the first reaction with change is to jump ship… so we wanted to avoid that.
- The second reason was this switch of ownership happened pretty fast and we wanted to be able to think things out a bit and test the waters… which seems to be going pretty darn good in our opinions… minus a couple mistakes we have made such as allowing a paid review of a fake Rolex watch to be posted (which we removed two days after it was posted and we are sooo sorry about that).
- The third and final reason was because it has been fun. We have gotten some serious “burst out load” laughs from some of the suggestions, especially the emails that are from people telling us “matter of fact”, who we are… like a college student hired by Bob Jones (bwa hahaha)
So does this mean we are going to spill the beans and tell everyone who the new JohnCow is?
NO not yet!
Sorry but we are not going to make it that easy… but we are going to make it fun.

Even though I don’t know who John Cow really is, I find it cool for it to be like that. Cow is a character, it doesn’t matter who is behind it.

I’m so excited about this contest - I only heard about the Kindle for the first time about 2 weeks ago, but I’ve wanted one ever since! I have so many ebooks, but I hate reading them on my computer because I already spend so much time looking at the screen, and my eyes go all blurry. Today I even had a terrible migraine that made working on the pc impossible, so the Kindle with it’s “paper” screen would be perfect for me! Now I just have to think of a good roast, which is actually quite difficult

“New and Improved”, what an understatement.
Bob had something when he first started out. Even though he knew next to nothing about actual marketing he was funny and did a good job putting a funny spin on things. I used to visit quite a bit back then.
Then he seemed to start taking himself too serious and believing his own hype and rather than a fun project he tried to turn it into a real money maker. The content started sucking, most of his post were just regurgitated stuff from other peoples blogs and it was filled with junk affiliate post and paid reviews. That’s when I stopped visiting for the most part besides the random stop to check if things had changed…which they didn’t for a long time.
Then all of a sudden, there was actually some good content…well written and actually knowledgeable! And not just one of those but all the post were starting to be that quality. I was even tricked enough to think Bob had a change of heart and actually put in some effort and complimented him on the positive change. I guess though that is more of a put down since it wasn’t him at all lol. (Sorry Bob but you really did start sucking ;). And so far doesn’t look like you are actually providing any real content on chow either. Unless you bring back that spark of humor and perspective you originally had here, you’re going to find it hard to restart what you had).
Anyway, regardless who the new bull in the field is, it’s nice to see this blog is worth a visit again. Looking forward to what you have coming ;).
