You don’t have to be good or lucky with poker to make a killing with it. There’s a smarter way to go about it, Just ask Jim who is now making mid six figures ($50,000!) per month thanks to the affiliateprograms.com/blog/2008/03/24/rags-to-riches-%e2%80%93-how-one-internet-marketer-used-the-poker-affiliate-industry-to-change-his-life-and-build-a-six-figure-empire/” onclick=”javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview (’/outbound/www.pokeraffiliateprograms.com’);”>poker industry. Within 2,5 years, he’s managed to get rid of his debt, loans and buy a brand new house because he’s simply endorsing poker as an affiliate. Hopefully Jim is smart enough not to put all that money back in the game, we’d be so tempted to start playing high stakes.

Poker affiliate programs always seem to have way higher payouts then any other product, probably because onlne gaming is a multi-billion dollar industry, and there’s plenty of moolah to go round. We’ve just stumbled upon a great resource for those of us tha would like to try their hand at becoming an online poker affiliate. PokerAffiliatePrograms (PAP) is a fantastic site, packed with all the stuff a newbie poker affiliate needs to know. We’re not saying you will be making 50K per month soon, but that’s because we don’t know how hard you’re willing to work for it. PAP provides you with so much information, there’s really nobody else to blame but yourself if you can’t make it work for yourself.

Not interested in becoming a poker affiliate? No worries, PAP has plenty of other cool stuff. We found a contest where you can win a trip to the PlayBoy mansion, a great interview with Shoemoney, tons of SEO stuff and general business tips. These guys are professionals, there’s no doubt about it, and we’re sure there’s plenty of things we can learn from them as successful online entrepreneurs.

We read somewhere that the forum they’ve attached to their website is the biggest online gaming affiliate forum online. Another hangout to educate your brain. We’ve just signed up for the RSS feed because its clear to us that we’re getting quality stuff from these guys, poker and no poker related. This feed is John Cow approved, and we recommend you subscribe too if you want to become smarter at what you do :)

Making Money Online With Free Stuff

Posted by John Cow in ReviewMe Reviews

Contradicting title isn’t it? Don’t worry, we’ll try to explain to you how exactly you can make money online by giving away free stuff in this review of Netline’s RevResponse. It has caught our eye as a viable replacement for bloggers that still use Adsense. Even though there was a time that bloggers and webmasters alike were cashing in 6 figure adsense checks, those lucky few are becoming an endangered species. With Google smart-pricing most of us, even a 1000 clicks a day won’t guarantee that you’ll be shopping for a new laptop next month. Perhaps RevResponse is the answer we’ve been waiting for?

Making Money Online doesn’t have to be complicated.

The system is quit ingenious in all its simplicity - by tapping into the largest B2B (business to business) focused content distribution network online, RevResponse enables you to handout tons of freebie resources to your visitors. Think along the lines of free business magazine subscriptions from eWeek, Profit Magazine, PCworld, tons of business whitepapers on Information Management, Communication, Security… basically everything an aspiring entrepreneur would want! Besides the magazines and whitepapers, they’ve also got plenty of podcasts and free software downloads in their free catalog. Want a peek in the catalog?

revresponse.jpg

Signing up, creating your offers and making a profit, it’s that simple! A Guaranteed minimum payout of $1.50 for every qualifying signup, subscription or registration, some of the offers will go as high as $20. Lets see Adsense beat that. They do have a $50 minimum payout, but thats very achievable. Payments made by checl or PayPal, whichever you prefer.

To help you make the sale, RevResponse’s system will help you generate widgets that will suit your blog. There’s a right banner size in there, with 9 color options, for any of their 600 products to promote on your site. Just like any other publisher, all you do is paste a bit of code into your blog and you’re good to go. Making money by giving way other people’s stuff for free  We love it!

Anyone, Anywhere.

Besides the straight forward process of signing up and starting to make money with the free offers, another great thing about RevResponse is that you’re not limited to the way you promote the offers. They don’t care if you use your mailing list for promotion, they encourage it. They don’t care where you’re from, or what language you speak. Everyone is welcome to join RevRespose’s money making business for free. Google Adsense who?

See For Yourself.

To see one of the widgets in action, you might have to refresh the page as we have a 300×250 in rotation. Our application was approved within minutes and we had the ad up in seconds. Now lets see how much money we can make with these guys. We recommend you invest a few minutes of your time to sign up today and see for yourself how easy it is to get started with the RevResponse widgets.

John Chow Is Full Of Shit

Posted by John Cow in ReviewMe Reviews, Stupid, Videos

Errr…we just saw this rather disturbing video of our hero, the reason why we blog, the epiphany of the blogging underworld, Mr John Chow. We’re not exactly sure what to think of it. Its a pretty crap video and he’s basically talking a lot of shit. He’s saying this is an attempt at a viral video, but that’s just bullshit if you ask us - he’s been sniffing glue for sure. Lets face it, if he had one, we wouldn’t recommend the Big Beef to give up the dayjob to start a career in standup comedy. And who is this Gary that shit his pants he keeps talking about?

*This was a sponsored review

Money Making Motives

Posted by John Cow in ReviewMe Reviews

We’ve all got our own motive when it comes to making money online. Some bloggers are happy with the adsense check that covers the starbucks expenses each month, others quit their day job in pursuit of dot com millions. We can tell you from experience; if you want to get filthy rich, quit your blog and get into affiliate marketing. That’s where the big money is in. (Unless your name is Jason Calacanis, in that case you’d laugh at 6 figure checks, like any other sane person would do). If you’ve got a motive, but don’t know where to start in the affiliate market jungle, we suggest you check out MotiveInteractive.com, an affiliate network with a very professional looking website, friendly account managers, hundreds of great offers and high payouts. Did we make you sign up yet?

Ok, guess you’d be interested to find out a bit more about MotiveInteractive. For starters, they’re in our good books after emailing us out of the blue, asking for our address details so they could sent us a free T-shirt. (Companies that send us free schwag are most likely to end up in our good books *hint). This tells us that they’re doing their best to add a personal touch to the relation ship they forge with their customer - whether it be an Advertiser or a Publisher. Excellent approach to do business. We’d not even consider working with Commision Junction for example - they seem to treat every customer as a number, and their whole system is pretty annoying actually.

MI on the other hand has a neat-o interface, very easy to use and fast because its based off AJAX. All offers roll by, you can click on them to either get the details, creatives or a preview - all done without hopping to a new window or any reloads. Advent ™, Motive’s flagship performance advertising platform, is fantastic for time saving. Affiliate marketing is very much a thing that succeeds if the timing is right, and Advent will make sure you’ll not end up as the last in line.

Motive Interactive provides publishers the tools to generate maximum revenue. With an expansive network of quality advertisers, Motive offers publishers the ability to choose only proven, pre-screened, high performing offers for reliable, consistent, and revenue-boosting results. Our proprietary lead generation platform allows publishers to launch streamlined campaigns with easy-to-use tools, while ensuring that you’ll be provided with accurate and reliable payouts and attentive customer service. With Motive, you have the power to launch campaigns that will succeed … the first time and every time!

The benefits MI has listed are pretty much industry standard:

  • Highest payouts
  • Top performing offers
  • Reliable payment schedule
  • Host and Post offers
  • Best in class Interface
  • Advanced tracking and reporting
  • Registration Path Technology
  • SID and AID tracking
  • Multiple ad formats and ability to customize
  • Superior customer service

Obviously there’s only so much you can say about any affiliate network. You’ll have to sign up and get the experience of working with their different systems to see what feels best for you. Right now, we’re pretty sure that this system is right up there with PepperJAM’s. We’re not going to pick between the two, thats entirely up to yourselves. As far as offers go, we believe MotiveInteractive has an extensive range of offers at the moment, and they are increasingly expanding. And did we mention great payouts yet? If you like to make your money with a regular job, MI is hiring too, so have a look around if they’ve got a job that would suit you.

While doing our research we came across a review about MI, that our good friend Ian Fernando did a few days ago. Being an affiliate marketer, he’ll probably be able to tell you a bit more abour MI. He’s also included a video of the interface, so be sure to have a peek at that too.

Sometimes Cheaper IS Better

Posted by John Cow in ReviewMe Reviews

Another day, another review. Sorry kids, we’ve got bills to pay too and it seems everyone is really happy with the results they get from our reviews - the orders just keep coming in. So today we’re having a look at Top Hosting Center - a web hosting company, as you might have guessed from the name. Yeah yeah, we can hear you thinking out loud; “Ohnoes! Not yet another webhosting company!”. You’re right, its NOT yet another webhosting company. Top Hosting Center seems to be aware of the priorities of the people that seek hosting in this day and age. No longer satisfied with a simple tripod page and sitebuilder, today’s netizens are all armed with an opinion and a voice, and what better way to vent your thoughts online than with a blog?

speedy.jpg

This was actually the first thing that we noticed when we had a look around. Top Hosting Center seems to be runs by young people, that know what goes on in the interwebs. Besides providing some of the cheapest web hosting plans we’ve seen, they have extended their services portfolio with some excellent stuff like SEO for blogging services. Some of us could do this ourselves, but outsourcing is quite popular. Here’s an example of what you can expect from the SEO service from Top Hosting Center:

  • Optimize the permalinks for the SEO from the time of the blog setup
  • Optimize single page (entry or blog post) titles and descriptions
  • Add SEO friendly plugins
  • Avoid Google duplicate content penalties
  • Create SE compliant robot.txt files and sitemaps
  • Register the blog with various blog directories
  • Help add video and podcasts to enhance user experience
  • Boost blog presence in social media networks, and much more!

Like we said - you could do all this yourself, but why bother for just $40? And if your blog is actually hosted with these guys, you’ll get a moo-licious 70% discount on top of that!

Have a look at the cheap webhosting plans THC has on offer. By the looks of it, Hostgator and Dreamhost might have got a fierce competitor on their hands soon. THC has been awarded with the number 1 spot in budget hosting by WebhostDir.com and was in the top ten of fastest growing in December 07, according to HostReview.com. Big sites, big awards - seems to us that THC is in the right track.

Obviously its not all about the money, or at least it shouldn’t be. The single most important thing you need from your webhoster is support. We just ran into a little issue on their website, when trying to sign up for the affiliate program, and contacted the live support. Obviously we didn’t mention that we were doing a review on them, and the support we received was excellent. We didn’t get brushed off with a “try again later” answer, the support rep actually asked us for our details and set up the account manually. 2 minutes later we were able to login to our affiliate account! A very friendly and helpful support department by the looks of it.

You might be satisfied with your current hosting provider, and not really on the lookout for a new plan. That’s ok, you can still have a look at their own blog. It’s packed with essential tips and tricks regarding web site analytics, Blog editors (people, not software), email header etiquette and tons more of blogger blahblah. Unfortunately they don’t seem to have an RSS feed and they haven’t used their own SEO service, as the permalinks aren’t SEO friendly. We couldn’t help but notice and mentioned this in the live chat we had with the supprt department. Our suggestions have been taken into consideration

All in all, THC looks like a great budgethost for bloggers, and has some excellent value for money, even if you’re looking for a dedicated server solution. Like we said, we wouldn’t be surprised if we’d see their company name mentioned alongside the big boys like hostgator and dreamhost soon. Oh, and we nearly forgot to mention that THC is one of themain sponsors of the SOBCon 2008 event. Probably one of the biggest blogging events of the year!
