I am not able to register KeywordCorral, I downloaded it from this site but when I try to run/register the application, it won't accept my name and email address. What do I do wrong?
Appreciate your assistance
Thanks

Hi,

I'm using KC 1.03 and I like it very much. It's a really helpful tool.

But when I check competition, Google sometimes gives me no data even if the keywords checked are < 10. Then that nice "<!doctype ..." fills out the competition field.

It would be a great thing, if this field could be resetted to zero for a later check. Maybe it's possible already and I just did not see it, but at the moment I have to add it manually to my saved result file.

Again, thumbs up for this software.

allintitle:advertising website is only ensuring that the term "Advertising" is in the title. It is then also looking for the other term at least present on the page. The top results will tend to have both in the title but not mandatory.

allintitle:"advertising website" however will make sure the phrase "advertising website" is in the title and this shows you exactly what competition is exactly targeting that phrase.

The phrase "advertising website" to me is too competitive a term, I generally only target phrases that have decent traffic and have no more than a 10 000 for results in google. 35 000 is pretty high. I will only go for terms like that if I am researching for a high authority site that already has lots of respect and rankings in Google and the traffic had better be good.

Personally I like to only target 3 word phrases, the reason is I can be sure the people using the phrase are looking for something specific.

Yes I agree cool tool but I'm confused-

cause anytime I see the allintitle used it's with no quotations around the KW.

Can someone please tell me which one is the more appropriate number..?

allintitle: advertising website = 170,000

allintitle:"advertising website" =35,000 (this returned by KC)

thank you thank you!!

Hey John Cow,

Thanks for the great free keyword tool.

However, the competition numbers appear to be way off.

You say you use the allintitle tag for the results, so I tested this out on google (.com; .co.uk ; .com.au; and .co.za) and never got the same numbers your tool was spitting out.

For example, using the keyword "cheap hotel" gave me a competition of 4650 000.

In google, searching for allintitle:"cheap hotel"
gave me 3800 000.

So where exactly is your data coming from then??

Another comment, it would be nice to be able to save the competition data, especially since as you note, Google won't be happy if they keep seeing a request for info. As it is, it doesn't seem like you can save any data unless you filter it.

You could always load the file and re-run if you want to refresh it.

I also just noticed that it saves in a comma, seperated format, but when I try to reload it is expecting a tab, seperated format. So that is certainly a boo-boo.

At first I had trouble, but then I went back and re-read the post and the instructions. You have to use the Google Traffic Estimator. It puts all of the data into the right format for the program.

One, "bug". CSV was originally a format that meant "comma-seperateed-value" format. It looks like the program will only accept a tab seperated file. This is the format that Google outputs and names it .csv, but I do believe it is a misnomer to call it CSV.

When I was playing around I tried to output a Comma-seperate file from Excel and it could not load.

Anyway, great job. It would be nice to have a range for what competition you believe should be targeted. I would think a level of 500 to 2500 would be good. Above that, I would think a very large number of links will be needed. What say you?

At first I had trouble, but then I went back and re-read the post and the instructions. You have to use the Google traffic Estimator. It puts all of the data into the right format for the program.

One, “bug”. CSV was originally a format that meant “comma-seperateed-value” format.
