Sometimes it happens –People have a perception of who you are and what you stand for. How often don’t you think what the person on the other side of the phone looks like if they’ve dialed a wrong number and get through to you? Or closer to home — Which one of you doesn’t have an image in their heads of someone that comments on your blog for example?
In reality, things often turn out far from your expectations.
Here’s a great example of an email of someone’s bubble we’ve burst:

Now obviously we’ve let down poor Ruchir. It seems we’re not at all what he expected us to be and he feels the need to express his disappointment and frustration in his reply. Its easy to see where he’s coming from. We’re probably no longer his heroes and he’s torn down our posters from his bedroom walls! Sorry Ruchir, next time you ask, we’ll lie to you to keep you happy!

We have had the same experiences as eBay PowerSellers. People ask us where we purchase a product from and they actually expect us to reveal our sources. We don’t think so!

I got the same email. Part of why I started blogging was boredom, but then again, I love to blog and know that people out there actually read what I have to say. Plus there are the money making opportunities - that’s an added bonus. Not that you really care, but those are my reasons.
The only reason I started blogging was because I wanted somewhere to write about current affairs without the boundaries of traditional media.
