Boost Your Alexa Rank Today

G’day folk, we’ve just discovered something that’ll probably help a lot of you guys to increase your Alexa rank and get you in the top 100k quick, if you’re not there already!
The way Alexa gathers it’s statistics is by measuring the amount of visits a site gets, the only catch though is that the browser that visits the site musty have the Alexa tool bar installed so that it can report back to Alexa HQ. Until now you were forced to use IE (bah) because there were no alternatives. Some people thought they were clever by adding an ugly Alexa redirect URL to their homepage because they believe this adds to their rank. Some experts have shared their thoughts on this and according to them it’s a big no-no. It makes you look unprofessional, stop using it!

Do you know how many of you are using Firefox? According to our web server stats, 64.4% fire fox users vs 30% IE users.
Alexa has released a new plugin for Firefox which means your Alexa rank can potentially look at a 2/3 increase!

If you don’t have Firefox yet, we suggest you start using it today to boost your rank!
is freely available for download, sponsored by Google.

We’ve heard loads of people say that Alexa is quite worthless because not everyone online is being measured by them, not giving an accurate number. Just think of it this way, if you can’t beat them, join them! Companies like reviewme.com and sponsoredreviews.com use your rank to compare and see how much they will pay you for a review. The higher the better! We’ve just installed it on our Mac and don’t even notice it’s there, so do yourself and your favorite bloggers a favor and don’t come back before you’ve installed the plugin!

And did you know how curiosity killed the cat?

  1. use. Try to make it as appealing as possible to readers. If it’s something people want to read, the rankings will be good. I’d also like to give a shout out to JohnCow.com who got me thinking about this. You might want to read his post titled ” Boost Your Alexa Rank Today “.

    Hi Mr Moo

It’s about time that Alexa brought this out for firefox, only 20% of my readers use IE, hopefully with will improve my stats.

Also if you look at the Big Beef’s site he has an Evil way of increasing your ranking with a firefox plugin that refreshes whatever page you want, I wouldn’t recommend using it though

I said something about that in another post, if you choose to do this, make sure you disable any advertisements that are on display else you becoming the latest victim of being banned. But honestly, building organic traffic gives you and your readers an honest picture of where you are, and you never have to wonder if the results are real or not.

There is an alternitive. Put one of the Alexa widgets on your site. In something that’s on every page, like the sidebar or footer. It’ll count people that don’t have the toolbar.

    • cooliojones says:

2x, can you tell us where we can find this widget? Some people are die-hard IE fans, and they won’t give it up if you held a gun to there udders. Also if you let people know on your respective websites, then they might be more inclined to download it because you recommend it. The latest IE was only good enough to attempt to become current with the other free browsers on the market, and Microsoft has never really been known for innovation.

Anyone use the Safari browser from Apple? It boasts being the fastest browser out right now.

    • mooiness says:

I found that that widget does not work as we thought it would. When I was away on vacation and hence wasn’t browsing and posting to my own site on a regular basis, my Alexa rank dropped even though my traffic stayed constant.

So ultimately, it’s still all about the toolbars whether in Firefox and IE. And speaking of Firefox, there was a plugin called “SearchStatus” before Alexa came out with one of their own.

It’s amazing that you have such a large number of Firefox visitors.. My stats show about 79% of my visitors still using IE, and the rest using a mix of Firefox, Opera, Safari, etc.

    • John Cow says:

      Guess our visitors are cool!

    • cooliojones says:

Trent, took a look @ your page and it’s cool! Navigation links on the right and left are awesome. I know you say most of your users are IE, but I don’t see anything on there telling of the benefits of Firefox. Might wanna include that if you want to use this hustle that Mr. Cow has posted. Also are you monetizing the site at all? I don’t see any ads, and that may be your intention. But overall, great stuff man.

Ok, as you wish LOL  Just installed that plugin, let’s see how thing will goes now :D

Yo Sitting Bull, check your spam filter. I posted a couple links in a post, all relevant, and I think Askimet flagged it.

  9. mahdi yusuf says:

you still have that enabled! i disabled that bad boy long time ago!

    • 2xKnight says:

You disabled Askimet? You’re a lot more brave than I am. Do you manually moderate comments?

    • cooliojones says:

Akismet is a great plugin. So far it’s only caught one spam message for me, but that is all that I’ve had really. I’m like you 2x I don’t know what I would do without it really. Every now and then I have to check comments manually, but it’s a great thing to have.

      • mahdi yusuf says:

yeah but at the same, time i don’t trust it enough to moderate, everything there always expections, i think, but my mind might change in the future

  10. I did notice the news about the toolbar for firefox. I can’t wait to upload it and increase mine and others rank.

  11. Got mine installed and everything is going good.

  12. I love the new Alexa toolbar, too. I just installed it late last week and there’s a lot you can do with it.

    Screw IE.

Askimet has caught about 300 spam comments on my blog. Out of all of those I only had to mark about 3 of them as “not spam”. I’d hate to think about having to delete all of those without it. I always look at ‘em before I delete ‘em, just to make sure.
