Sure beats having to listen to us eh Israel?
Some of the names that will pass through here are Jim Kukral, John Chow (If he ever stops counting his money and gets off his lazy ass to write that article he promised!), Kumiko, DoshDosh and today we’re starting out with Courtney Tuttle, the only other blogger we know who has a parody site in his honor!

Camera’s rolling aaaaaand action!

Who could resist participating in a project on the infamous John Cow’s site? When Mr. Cow asked me if I would share how I got started with blogging I agreed instantly. So, I’m here to tell you all how I got started.

A Lucky Break Started It All

While at a barbecue with some friends, I was approached about an internet marketing job. I wasn’t really looking for a job, but decided to go in for an interview just to check it out. I didn’t have any experience at the time but have always been above average on anything to do with computers. Prior to that day, I had started digging into the industry on my own - I just didn’t have any direction. Being referred by a friend, confidence, ability on a computer, and a lot of interest in the industry helped me to get a job that I really wasn’t qualified for at the time.

I worked at the internet marketing company for a while and before long was trained as an internet marketing consultant. Before leaving I personally helped over 200 companies and individuals to learn the business and developed some of my own successful web properties. Those properties are what eventually freed me from the corporate life.

Blogging Was The Next Evolutionary Step

Those of you that have made static websites know what a huge pain they are. You have to make each page individually and create a link structure that ties them all together. Most bloggers have no idea how good they have it. Blogging is 1000 times easier than making static sites. I turned to blogging to fill some huge gaps in my out-dated business model. Blogging allowed me to quickly and easily:

  • Manage content without designing each individual page.
  • Syndicate using RSS.
  • Build a search engine efficient link structure.
  • Save drafts to be used at a later date.
  • Time-stamp content for future use.

Once I started looking into blogging, I realized that they have enormous advantages over traditional sites and are spectacular for getting repeat visitors. I started making the transition and started my first blog in February, 2007. That blog has since become known as Court’s Internet Marketing School, which is ranked right below JohnCow.com (#9) as the #10 ‘make money online’ site in the world.

My talent is helping others to learn internet marketing, so the blog’s topic was an obvious choice for me. I have focused on teaching key concepts in an easy to understand format, and I believe that focusing on making things easy has contributed to the success I’ve had so far. Some people would consider me to be a cheater, since I already had my online marketing education before I started my blog. ;)

Current Blogging Focus

Right now I’m working on taking my blog to that next level. In order to do that, I’m working on a few really important projects, including the expansion of my search engine optimized WordPress themes section, and BloggingZoom, which is a site I co-founded to help bloggers to get their names out there. The site is really catching on, so the value to bloggers is growing every day.

Focusing on helping bloggers to succeed has served be well, so I’m going to stick to it!
