Because Keyword Corral told me that “Best Keywords” was the best keyword to use :)

I have just uploaded an upgrade to KeywordCorral that addresses a couple minor bugs and also the major bug for finding the competition. It is working perfectly now (for me anyway) and if you already have a copy you should receive an email today with a download for the upgrade.

If however you have not downloaded your own copy… CLICK HERE NOW to register you very own copy and start finding those “Best Keywords” –> Wow.. i feel like a keyword spammer here trying to fit that keyword in here so much ;)

Below is a video I just recorded for you all that walks you through exactly how I used Keyword Corral to come up with the “Best Keyword” (oops I did it again) for this post.

I hope this video will answer a lot of those questions a few of you have been askign as well.

PLUS –> I am having a PDF made up with the exact steps I took in this video that I am emailing everyone as well. So if you want KeywordCorral and the PDF Click Here and get instant access now!

  16. SuiteJ says:

Ok, I’m going to check out the Corral.

I have a couple questions. What’s your take on bolding the keyword several times? I’ve read many people saying they are both for and against it.

From a perspective of a reader, it annoys me when the same phrase is bold several times throughout an article, but as an IMer, I do it myself on niche content sites. lol

At the end of your video, you mentioned to notice that “Best Keywords” BEGINS the title.
How much difference does that make as opposed to having it in the “middle of the title”, like “Find The Best Kewyords Using Keyword Corral”
Know what I mean? Or is it a case of “many small things together in one post” will add up to a big impact?

    Let me know CowMan!
    Cheers!

    • John Cow says:

Actually i went a little overboard in this post on purpose… just for some fun.

You should only use bold when you specifically want to highlight certain points. If you bold the keyword once.. you should try to have it in a phrase as it can make your post look a little spammy.

As for the keyword position in the title… from my personal experiments it does appear that having the keyword in the first four words of the title gives it a bit of a bump… but the most important thing is to make sure the title attracts the readers attention. No use having a keyword perfect title that looks like crap and does nothing to get the readers attention.

Your last point is a good one, as it is true that many things add up but there is the 80/20 rule where 20% of the things make up for 80% of the results. To me the the 20% things are…

      1. keyword in start of title
      2. keyword in start of description
      3. keyword in the first sentence
      4. keyword at least three more times in the content
      5. Keyword bold or italicized once

IMPORTANT –> all these things are done after the post is written. First write the post for the reader and then try to optimize it without losing any of the quality.

      Make sense?

      • SuiteJ says:

Makes perfect sense, and thanks for outlining it so well.

The final “Important” tip is a crucial one that everyone should try to apply. It defeats the purpose to gain visitors by optimizing the page for search engines if the visitors are annoyed when they get there and bounce in 3 seconds.

Thanks again for the solid reply. It’s appreciated.

        Cheers!
        Jay

No offense.. well some offense back but personally I think that is an absolute load of crap.

I want my blogs to rank in the search engines and knowing what keywords I can use to help that helps me achieve my goals. That does not mean you spam the content… but if you can use the keywords then why would you not?

But hey.. everyone is allowed their opinions and I respect yours… don’t agree with it… but respect it.

PS –> “what blogging should be about” –> in that case no one should have ads, affiliate mentions, opt ins and everything else monetized on the majority of blog.

Well..I know that your keyword in this post is best keywords. I have been trying to put many good keyword to use but until now there is no sign of any positive return. I found one blog with only single short post, 2 comment actually 3 including my comment in his blog, just created several days ago and his is getting 2/10 PR. How the hell did he do that? if you are interested to know which blog I am talking about visit my blog. I just made a post about it. Well, how about that I am already on page one, less then 20 hours later for that keyword phrase:)

You can not just use the keyword in the post, you have to do some link building as well. I submitted the post and then went out and did some link building using that keyword using TrafficKahuna and whamooo… page 1 ;)

I updated the post up top with the screenshot

Great tool, just wondering is their anyway to download the keywords in a csv file once the research in complete so you will have this information to look at later.

  23. Andy Bailey says:

I must have been reading about how to use the best keywords or how to generate sales using popular keywords probably since I started on the internet but, I’ve never used any kind of keyword tool to improve my posts ever!

    should I feel ashamed?

@sunduvan: I have had this on quite a few of my pages. One thing I do is make a splash page with plenty of info relating to my subject and then do the usual linking to it in posts, sidebars and other places.

it gets to PR2 and then I build the blog around that.

my CommentLuv site had an EMPTY blog on it for maybe 2 months but, because I had to linked to it in articles about commentluv, about plugins, about wordpress and had one way links coming in, it got a PR2 with nothing on it except a theme with no posts (actually it had the default hello world post showing)

the site you see now maybe isn’t the site that got PR2.

I’d like to say I found this out because I’m clever but it’s because I have a habit of starting things and not

Well Keyword Corral is free and uses the Google tools data. You can not really compare them because KC just helps you manage and filter data that google provides.

  25. Well, this is an interesting tool and might give it a try. I’ve never been a big fan of writing posts with specific keywords, but I must admit that it’s usually working very well for traffic when I do so. Thanks for sharing that cow.

Yeah boyeeeeeeeeeee. KC was already cool in my opinion, knowing that it is being supported and updated makes it even better. I think I am turning into a JC junkie…all the tools I’ve used from you so far seem to be top notch :)

I agree with everyone else, and with what you said. The best keyword for me, may not be the same for you, it depends on the site, the content, and the goal of targeting that keyword.

However, it doesn’t hurt to have tools like this on hand, maybe I should start using them more for my regular blog and not just niche sites lol.

It may be hard to fit certain keywords in, especially when you don’t have a specific targeted phrase.

I do like to pick up on stuff from GA, my man suiteJ was talking about it the other day. Seeing what you already rank for, and going forward. Matter of fact, didn’t you say something about that as well?

I’ve been using some other keyword tools when writing blog posts and have managed to score P1 for a couple of them. I’m always looking for new tools though so I’ll be checking this out. I think there is a fine line between using a strong keyword in your title, post to ensure people actually find it via google and over stuffing the post so your copy becomes rubbish and you upset your regular readers.

  41. Joey says:

Hi guys and thanks for the KC tool- I’m enjoying it alot.

I do have a question though about why the competition numbers there and in Google don’t match up.

You’re using the allintitle numbers but in your sample word file..the terms
    advertising website show 35,000 pages
    blogging software show 21,700 pages

but search allintitle:advertising website shows 170,000

    allintitle:blogging software shows 38,200

Since these numbers are vastly different…can anyone explain this to me….

    many thanks everyone!

  42. Niches are so competitive these days, it’s becoming harder to rank well for keywords with 2 or even 3 words. I see 70%+ traffic to my niche blogs coming from keyword combination you’d never guess, and these keywords are 4 and more words. I usually optimize content after analyzing keyword stats on the blogs.
