Awesome New WordPress Plugin
| Share |
You might have noticed a little update in our blog’s sidebar – a sexy looking, money making wordpress plugin that allows you do auction just about anything you could imagine. We’ve had our old iPod laying around and figured it’d be a perfect fit to use as the first auction we have while using the WPAuctions plugin. Coded and designed by a good friend of ours, who also did our professional blog design, this little gem might prove extremely useful for bloggers like yourselves, looking to make a bit of extra cash. Its fresh off the press so get it while its hot!
Sure, you can use eBay for all your auctions, but they tend to take some sort of commission for using their services. Besides, you can use this plugin to generate some extra traffic to your blog too! This is done by simply downloading the free plugin, slapping it onto your site, create an auction, and register your site on their live auctions page. Everyone that sees an item that might be of interest to them can click on the auction link and will end up on your blog. Yay, another hit!
What we absolutely love is that you can get the widget in your own customized style. Instead of all those ugly premaid widgets that float around the net these days like blogrush and MyBlogLog (sheesh, when did they introduce that monstrous new widget
) We’ve seen the preview of some styles specifically created for some of the big boys in blogging, but we’re not sure we are allowed to share these with you. For now, you’re gonna have to do with ours. Then again, you could contact them and have a customized one made for yourself today!

profits. Designed by Hyder who is the guy behind the Cow’s cool logos, the Plugin looks promising right now. Released on Feb 22nd you will be one of the first to feature this nifty little Plugin on your blog. Below you see the Plugin in action onJohn Cow’ssite. He is currently auctioning off a 5th generation 30 GB iPod Video. Hyder is also working on developing some more styles for the style store which will allow you to customize the Plugin with color according to your blog

Nice plugin. Cool design too, wanna see the Shoemoney one now, assuming there is one given you linked to him…

That’s really neat. For small time bloggers it may be more difficult for us to be able to get items bid for and sold.Hopefully, I’ll be able to use it.
News Notion’s last blog post..Almost There
NewsNotion – That’s the whole purpose behind the “Live Auctions” area, so as to help bloggers like you get some additional traffic if your readership itself is not ready to purchase something you are selling.
Try it out, you won’t be disappointed. Plus, we’re still in beta there’s still lots more features to come.
@Hyder – But how much additional attention is that really?

So, how ’bout that international shipping?
Geoff’s last blog post..Affiliate Programs
That’s a really neat widget, I like it a lot. I’ll have to think of something to do with it or something to auction. Can you only auction material objects, or online advertising, etc. as well?

Pretty cool. This could go viral and be pretty big. I’ll do a post about it.

I can’t bid yo. Tried to bid 10 bucks.

Interesting. Wonder if people will start auctioning their ad space. I’m considering buying OIOpublisher, but this could be another option I guess.
Jason’s last blog post..Are You Sleeping With Lorena Bobbitt?
Jason, this might compliment OIO, but OIO automates the process, this is something different and you should for sure invest in OIO, well, well worth it IMO
(See it running on my blog)

What a coincidence, I just read about this plugin yesterday

NewsNotion – as it gets adopted more so will we adapt to the needs. It’s a mutual relationship.
Matt – You need to meet the “Starting Bid” price. Otherwise the bid will not be accepted. That’s how auctions work
looks like it is a good one as it can be customized. .. you talk about myblog uncustomized i see you have done some customization yourself there

Very cool little touch to the site and a great way to get rid of some stuff and make some Mooney!
Nice plugin but $150 minimum? No thanks.
I like the idea that the widget can be personalized to the site. Looks great.
TheCriticalCritic’s last blog post..Movie Review: Semi-Pro (2008)
That’s a new and innovative way to make money out of your unwanted stuff. I would love to install this widget on my site too.

Great work Hyder. Think this concept will definitely work, waiting to see some ad space being offered by the blog owners out there.
Blog Contest Central’s last blog post..10 ways to bring sexy back with a blog contest
Love the idea behind it, especially the aggregation on the central site. Great work Hyder!
Since someone mentioned OIO….I did wonder whether it might be possible to integrate the 2 apps (for auctioning ad space). I’m presuming that the auction info is stored locally, which would mean that the auction data could trigger OIO to display and manage the ad automatically when the winning bid is finalised.
Only a passing thought though, may not work…
Simon – Thanks for your comments.
I’m sure we can work something out

I’m going to download this and check it out. I couldn’t find any terms for listing in their live auctions. I assume there’ll be limits? For instance, I can’t auction off my liver, can I?
Yours looks good. Hopefully it’s not hard to customize.
Thanks for another great tip!
