1st Prize Cow, 2nd Prize Chow

You literate boys and girls must have seen the ads by now – you’ve got a shot at winning a free review right here on JohnCow dot Com, courtesy of Winning the Web dot Com. Gyutae Park, the guy responsible for you having to read this review, is really feeling the Christmas spirits (perhaps he had a few too) because not only is he giving away a free review from us, he’s also giving one away on John ‘with the H’ Chow dot com! How generous is that? Well considering that he cleverly took advantage of our December discounts where all reviews that get ordered are for half price only! ($100).

Enough of that, besides you guys obviously desperately wanting to win that free review, we’ll let you know a little bit more about the man with the plan, Gyutae – an Internet entrepreneur as well as a professional SEO working for a top agency in New York City. It seems Mr. Park’s blog hasn’t been around too long, with the archives dating back to the 16th of October, but from what we can see, he knows what he’s talking about. The last three months on Winning the Web are packed with great interviews, SEO tips and contests. Seems we missed out on the SEO book again  But we’ll certainly try to win one of his weekly free blog audits, not that we could improve, but hey, he IS an expert so let the man have his say

“Who cares bloody cows! Tell us how we can win those free reviews already!”

Sigh, why is everyone in such a hurry these days…fine, we’ll let you in on the details.

Make Money Online with Internet Marketing What you need to do to enter Winning the Web’s grand competition with two free reviews on the world’s most popular blogs isn’t hard. Just subscribe to his RSS feed and read it every day, at least until the 21st of December. You’ll need to keep an eye out for a special letter each post because you’ll need these to figure out the magic word/phrase Gyutae has included in the RSS posts! Pretty clever if you ask us. By the time the contest is over, you’ll be hooked on his blog and have automagically transformed into a loyal reader. What a great idea! Here’s a blatant copy from the Big Beef’s blog post:

  • Letters will be added to the scrambled message in random upcoming posts on Winning the Web. You must subscribe to the RSS feed to view it.
  • To take a guess at the unscrambled word/phrase, you must make a comment to the contest post.
  • You can guess what the word/phrase is at any time in the process, but only 1 entry per person (by website and IP address).
  • You must enter the web site you want reviewed.
  • Winner will be announced Friday, December 21.

As everyone knows; we’re easy. So instead of having to guess a scrambled word, the John Cow review will go to a random commentator on all Winning the Web posts in December. However, the winner will be announced via RSS feed so it’s still important to subscribe. The winner then has 24 hours to claim the prize. Otherwise, a new winner will be chosen.

There you have it folks, you know you don’t want to miss out on these two groundshaking prizes, so you’d better hurry up and subscribe to Winning the Web’s RSS feeds!

  3. win a John Chow review. I felt that this would spur on readers to subscribe to the feed and to actively participate since a new letter was introduced to the code each day. For the people who thought that this was too much work, I added a drawing for afree John Cow reviewto a random commentator during the set time frame. This would increase the number of comments on the blog as well. All in all, it was a complete contest that covered all of my goals and was strategically designed to explode my site

I think this is one of the most creative ways to use review me so far. Even though that old car in his header looks like the c(h)ow sites, and it seems a little bit toooooo similar to you guys, it’s still a good blog with solid content and a great prize to win, so damn, I should subscribe. :!:

  5. The guy really knows what he’s doing, and he’s got the cash to do it. good luck to all contestants may you all win :P

He certainly is shaking things up over there at winningtheweb, some innovative ideas to grow his site rapidly.

  9. Heh! This guy is on a roll! Read his guest post over at Shoemoney, found his blogged. Subscribed. Found the contest on his blog, and replied to the thread (I was the first. Even before the first Chow post was up). Read the Chow post a few hours later. Now he’s here. Not bad getting on three of the biggest blogs in under a week…

  10. This was, without a doubt, the coolest type of contest I’ve ever seen. He’s basically ordering a review from both Chow and you, Cow, plus an addition of RSS subscribers every single day. Clever if you ask me.

His idea quite creative. I will subscribe for his RSS and hope he can continue deliver creative contents to me.

  14. He must be feeling the burn though with all that work lol. He’s snowballing down the hill but is running fast enough to take advantage of the hype. Very impressive but I could imagine a bit stressful to make sure he grabs all he can from the exposure from 3 pretty huge blogs all at once and then the dozens of other blogs that pick up on it.

But it looks like it was planned out great. Tons of traffic, lots of feed subscribers and some great content to keep people around. Wish more contest actually had as much substance ;) .

What that bloody word is

  16. joe says:

Too clever by half. Certainly a very good review but even if I read the blog, I doubt it will be successful stringing readers along to look for 1 character per day of posts. Even in this niche, “Don’t make me think” is a truism.

  17. Manik says:

How about you and John Chow go on a competition :) That would have been much more fun to watch.

  18. WeblogMoney says:

It pays to visit your site daily! Great contest by Winning the Web!

I’ve your subscription, but I click through your post once in two weeks only ;) I will take care not to miss the bus on this one.

  20. DotDriven says:

So Cow, any chance you know the secret word to win the chow review and how much is the bribe to get it out of you? ;) . Although chows review would obviously bring more traffic I think yours would be a bit more fun to win
