1000 Entrecard Visitors This Month
| Share |
We just wanted to give a quick recap on the Entrecard program by Graham Langdon. They ordered a review with us three weeks ago and we signed up with them on that day. Since then we’ve received 729 unique hits from this free ad-exchange program. Not too shabby for any blog if you ask us! If you haven’t signed up yet with Entrecard.com, now’s the time to do it. We’re in a generous mood and will give a random commentator, who displays the entrecard widget on their blog, all 750 of our hard earned free credits. That’s enough to get free ads on JohnChow, Problogger and us – and you’ll still have enough left to advertise on a bunch of cheaper blogs too! (cheap as in cheap entrecard credit-wise, nor cheap as in cheapcheap, if you get what we mean!)
So all you people have to do is leave a comment on this post and we’ll pick a random person (via random.com) to credit the points to his or her account within the next 24 hours. We will obviously be checking if you’ve got the widget running on your blog, so if you’re not signed up yet with entrecard.com, do it now and get a head-start!

Mixed Market Arts has some mixed opinions about it: My followup to Entrecard Vic of Blogger Unleashed thinks it’s the greatest thing since sliced bread, Entrecard Another Loser, and John Cow absolutely hates it,1000 Entrecard Visitors This Month. Oops, reverse that! Sly at Slyvisions is having a little deja vu, Entrecard the Next BlogExplosion?, as does Silki in an article at Techie Buzz, EntreCard | Will it succeed ? Sam has some bad ideas, IMO,

That’s a very generous offer, but I think no matter how many credits someone has the ad queue on Johnchow.com and johncow.com means we won’t be able to get our entrecard ads on the sites.
Woo hoo, pick me!
Entrecard brings about 15% of my traffic per day. Granted my traffic’s low, but it’s a huge number especially compared to Blogrush. I had to remove Blogrush from my blog after giving it a good try for a few months. Isn’t worth it if you ask me.
Entrecard has been great for my blog, I only started out a few weeks ago and traffic has been crazy!

[...] Some people have posted about how they found EntreCard so great, but I am guessing that is because they were paid to do so. Even Darren Rowse from ProBlogger.net has it on his site, but he didn’t post a report or recommendation about it to-date. I wonder are these people really happy with the traffic they are getting or are they just happy with the wad of cash they got from using it. I, for one, am not happy with the type of traffic EntreCard sends. [...]
I’ve had mild success with Entrecard. I agree with Mr. Daz though, all the credits in the world won’t get you an ad spot on an ‘A-list’ blog, especially if they reject your advertisement.
I have gotten over 80 uniques from small blogs over the past week though. When your blog is new like mine, every visitor counts.
EntreCard Traffic isn’t worth anything IMHO. People just look for the widget, drop their card, and leave. This is what I’ve found. I’ve had a really high bounce rate from EntreCard Visitors. In fact I am giving away some credits tomorrow as I won’t be using them once the last approved advertiser goes.
I could use the traffic.
Ok widget on board… Let’s see if this can kickstart some traffic. Thanks!
Zach, I’m sure you want proper traffic. Not just people visiting your site for 5 seconds to find your widget. I wouldn’t waste your time in joining up.
Sign me up!

I’m one of those cheap blogs you mentioned!
I’ll take those credits! LOL Thanks for the contest.
Entrecard has been hugely successful for me, though I’m in the situation like yourselves: nobody can advertise on my blog due to it’s huge popularity
750 entrecard points…i put those to good use!!
wow thats crazy generous!
I cant believe some of the sites are up to almost 200 credits to advertise… I remember when the “make money online” section only had less than 40 members, talk about taking off.
EntreCard was great for my blog! Infact, I set up a competition to give out 50 EntreCard credits and it was a huge success!
I just found out about Entrecard the other day and got around 110 hits from it so far, which I think is pretty alright. 750 credits would not be bad at all
I’ve been pretty pleased with my results from Entrecard, too. Like preblogging has mentioned, the majority of the traffic isn’t on the site long, but I have had my subscriber count increase since I started using Entrecard. It doesn’t take very long to drop a card and decide you might want to read the site later and subscribe. I’m good with that.
I’ve found entrecard to be really good not only for visitors, but for comments and interaction, just wonder what 2008 will hold for it?
Entrecard is the best. Like John Chow says, a visitor is a visitor, its my job to make them stay.
Since using Entrecard, I’ve gotten 600 unique hits, over 40 comments, and I’ve discovered some great blogs that I’ve subscribed to and comment on.
Say what you will, preblogging, but what more can a blogger ask for? It’s free and takes up no more space than a 125×125. So what if a lot of them are just dropping their card? At least I’ve got them on my page so I can attract their attention, and thats more than ANY OTHER WIDGET can do right now.
750 Credits sounds like a pretty good reward to me, just for being a random. I wish parties were like that, free beer just for showing up.
Steve have you tracked the bounce rates for these visitors ? They are particularly crap. For traffic, it’s not quantity, it’s quality. Sure you can make some extra efforts to make your blog more appealing, but still you will get these folks who will just want to rack up some credits as fast as they can.
I’ve just recently discovered the joys of Entrecard this week. I also made a handy Entrecard browser the other night: http://www.joetech.com/ec.php
Interesting point – what was the bounce rate of those 729 EntreCard visitors JC?
I’m shortly going to be looking at all the different social networking options for my personal blog (doing an overhaul), so it would be nice to know not only how much EntreCard sends, but how many stay on after the 1st page view.
That goes for anyone else using EntreCard too – what is the bounce rate you’re getting?
I did a weeks study and I found it to be a poor excuse for good traffic exchanges, I mean my traffic is so poor that my bouce rate is higher than my new visitors – strange? How can you get high bounce rate for less visits?
I do not think entrecard is great for traffic, users see traffic and think its great traffic – I tell them look at their stats more in depth – damn noobs
My site visits has increased a lot, well, nowhere near 1000 but for me I’m rejoicing with all the cooking I do to bring bloggers closer to Italian food up to now nothing worked but entrecard is working for me.
I’m making a great Pizza a dedication to all visitors from entrecard. Keep commmiiing!
Less than a minute on site with a bounce rate of 90% plus will help you Alexa score slightly but not do much of anything else. EntreCard is mostly junk traffic but at least it’s actual traffic.
Simon I was getting over 80% of a bounce rate from these visitors.
As far as traffic generation goes, Entrecard has been the best thing for MDP. I was doing ok with google traffic but since Entrecard is completely targeted, I can get the people I really want reading my blog.
That’s so nice of you John….But do these 750 credits gurantee that John Chow and problogger approve our ads?
Wooo! Free credits. =)
I signed up around five minutes ago… 10 requests since then – argh!!!!
Wouldn’t mind 750 free credits; would net me a spot on John Cow Dot Com for five days, when the rest of them finish theirs of course..
Yo I am in the contest. I love entrecard and its brought me some good traffic!
moooooo
I have received 200 + unique visitors and a 15% increase in RSS readers since signing up with Entrecard. Obviously it is not an amazing amount of traffic but not too shabby considering it is free and easy to use.
I thought this was over but was going to post anyways.
But since I actually do have a chance at winning the credits, I just want to say that you should probably just jam them up your backside. If the law of inertia is as true as it’s always been, you’re probably going to end up giving them to someone who is pretty much just like everybody else’s boring, little, ol’ self.
But as a PT Barnum act-a-like, I’ve gotta give you a big thumbs up… cheers!

I’d love the points so I can give them away in a competition on my own blog!
ooooh oooh ooooh pick me, random.com
I made a suggestion to Entrecard today telling them they need to modify the Entrecard widget to disable the clickthrough of the ad for 10 seconds or so after the card drop. Maybe people will actually hang around at the sites instead of “chain-dropping”.
lol, i’m always behind the times with stuff. Still need to try out Entrecard.
Cow–you put your advert on my site! I was quite honored. I am a big fan of Entrecard too.
AL
Entrecard is really awesome, im getting a lot of traffic by there…
Anything free is always good.
I will cry “MOOOHU!” if I am not chosen. And I will laugh “MOOOHA!” if the random number point to me.

Why does people have more luck than me?
I think I was the first to setup a “1000 credits contest” (i did the math and I was sure to be able to give those credits until 8 Jan 2008).
Until now there is only one player.. I guess I asked too much
my2cents & Good Luck
P.S: I still give 5credits for every comment on MyBlog
If I’m not in, I can’t win.
Give it to me !
Thanks Cow!
My success has been marginal after about a week. I think I’ve figured out an algorithm for maximizing the exposure on both the card dropping and advertising end. It is hard to really test it without more data.
Suffice to day, as other people are mentioning, your best results are not necessarily on the biggest sites.
Also, you have to put thought into a good ad design.
Hey! i wouldn’t mind those credits!
Are those credits stil available? If not , thanks for the share . Its a pretty cool widget
Looks like lots of folks are giving away Entrecard credits
This contest may be over when I leave this comment, but thus far I’ve had a good experience with Entrecard.
I have a similar contest going on.

I could use some entrecard credits!
And I also have entrecard on my blog.
great idea… im now using etrecard as well!
There are more and more contests for Entrecard credits with each day. Each contests seems to be offering more credits than the previous one.
I signed up for Entrecard and noticed an increase in traffic on my blog. There is some debate as to whether it is good traffic. For me I’ll take the traffic, and hopefully my blog will entice a few to stick around and read some of the posts.
I like Entrecard it’s a nice program, i got few traffic from them
I love the EntreCard concept. It has increased the traffic on my site.
